Yes

They still should've kept her longer on the show. She was an entertaining David replacement.

I think they should have also. I haven't seen any of the eps in ten years but I still remember her character. I do have a question. What happened in the first ep that Ginny was in?

The upholstery company is trying to rip-off Ann by overcharging her, and Ginny puts them in their place. It is the first episode with Ginny on Comcast.

Cool, Go Ginny!! I could get Comcast if I moved to Richmond, Virginia but I won't move there for a tv show not even One Day. I still have faith that I'll be able to see it again one day without having to move to the city. Now if I knew someone from Richmond....

Besides I have a friend in California that has Comcast but she doesn't get On Demand so she can't watch it either and she's a fan.

Mary Louise Wilson was a great actress for the part. They succeeded in finding a woman who looked like she was "around the block" about 10 times. I thought somebody would pull of her wig and expose her as a man! LOL.

Who is Francine?

Who is Francine?

Isn't Francine the lady who works in Ann's office? She was played by Shelley Fabares. Francine and Ann were always sort of competing with each other, but I think they eventually became friends. The character stayed around until the end of the show I think. I remember not liking Francine very well when I was a kid, but if I get a chance to view some episodes with her again I might change my mind.

I know that. Sol, if she was let go, she obviously had to leave. She could not exactly stick around. I can't believe that you did not know who Francine was. Were you an avid One Day viewer?

I only seen 28 eps of ODAAT and since she was added in season 3, I haven't seen her yet because Comcast is still in the middle of season 2-lol

Francine got on my nerves in later seasons, but she sure was a beautiful woman.

To me, she was the Donna Mills of 80' sitcoms. Sweet Mixture! LOL.

Ginny sort of reminds me of adult actress Sharon Mitchell.

I'm watching ODAAT time on BookTelevision (a Canadian 'cable' station) and they have just started Season Two and it's the middle of the 'Julie Runs Away' episodes. I checked on Wiki and the first Ginny episode is the 8th episode of this season. I'm taping (yes, actually VCR video taping!) the episodes as goodness knows when and if the rest of ODAAT will ever released on DVD.

Ginny was one of my favorite characters on the show and it saddened me when she was 'let go' (I'm the same age as Valerie Bertinelli so I watched this show as a teen in the '70s). I read that she was fired at the request of Bonnie Franklin as she didn't like the character of Ginny being so popular and getting a lot of the laughs. Mary Louise Wilson is a wonderful actress and a great comedienne. I guess in a way, though, the characters of Ginny and Ann didn't really have a lot in common apart from living in the same building and being divorcees. It'll be good to see Ginny again after all these years.

S2 was my favorite due to Mary-Louise as Ginny. She was as bold and brassy as Maude, but younger and with a better figure to pull off the cocktail waitress schtick. I was sorry when she left and I never enjoyed the show as much thereafter.

In a recent interview (about three years ago), MLW stated she despised the writing on the show and asked Norman Lear to let her out of her contract. Not sure if she was just trying to save face, because I have also heard the rumours that Bonnie resented MLW getting all the laughs (shades of the Lavin/Holliday situation on "Alice") and told producers she wanted her out.

In 2012 MLW had a small but memorable part on "Nurse Jackie". *PROFANITY WARNING* See link below.

For all fans of Mary-Louise Wilson, the 83 year old actress will be costarring in the revival of the Broadway musical "On The 20th Century". It opens March 15, 2015 and has a limited run until July 5, 2015.

She stars with Peter Gallagher, Kristen Chenoweth, and Mark Lin Baker (of the ABC 80's sitcom 'Perfect Strangers').
