...is it a name chosen to honor somebody? MY eldest daughter is Brianna Nicole. Her middle name is to honor my wife's twin sister who died at birth. My youngest daughter's name is Ashlyn Grace. She got her name Grace as in the Grace of God, because my wife had trouble getting pregnant the second time around and she prayed for help and within a week, she was pregnant.

My middle name is Eloise. It is my late mother's first name. However, when I was growing up, I was called by that name rather than Irene. It is a custom in hispanic families to be called by your middle name rather than your first name. However, in school, kids would spell it wrong or they called me "Weezie" just like on the Jeffersons (that was cool). When I finally graduated and left catholic school (after 8 long years!!! 1st thru 8th grade) I wanted to go to public school so bad. I was tired of uniforms, etc. When I was enrolled in high school I insisted my first name be the name I would use. The only person who still called me Eloise was my dad. I don't hear my name anymore cuz he died two years ago and so I am Irene to everyone.

Danielle. My brothers mn is Daniel and since I was born on his B-Day my mom wanted a name that would match with his.

I think it is. You know, as long as I've known my wife, I have never asked her about her feelings on the issue. She herself was an infant when her sister died, but being that they were twins, I wonder if there is a little void in her life. I just never went into specifics with her about it.

My middle name is Juanita, and I hear it was named after a godmother on my paternal side. My dad was always secretive, so my mom never knew who she was or anything. I only saw a pic of her, but she died when I was really little and never met her.

Wanna know a funny, coincidental story? We had two female co-workers: one was Mary and the other was Carol. Their middle names were switched of the other's names, so their names are:

-Carol Mary

I guess my dad's family used to have this tradtion of giving the son his father's name as his middle name...but my grandmother didn't want to/refused/didn't like her husband's first name (no one called him by it either I don't think), so my dad's middle name is his dad's middle name.

My dad's name would have been my middle name had I been a boy. But I ruined that. :lol:
