View Full Version : Good Times marathon on TVLand in May... Ireneparalegal 04-13-2006, 09:51 PM http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2006/04/tv-land-brings-back-48-hour-marathon_13.html PrettyinPink55 04-13-2006, 10:31 PM The marathon last summer is how I first got into the show. :D retrochick9 04-13-2006, 11:47 PM That's awesome!!! I hadn't seen the show since the 80's or so until TVLand brought it back. TVFactFan 04-14-2006, 10:20 AM I don't why this is news when there has already been two marathons since July. I'm not interested. They better do the same thing with the Jeffersons Brian Damage 04-14-2006, 10:35 PM They are really getting there money's worth with this show. lol retrochick9 04-14-2006, 11:27 PM Is TVLand going to be airing The Jeffersons? TVFactFan 04-15-2006, 08:54 AM Is TVLand going to be airing The Jeffersons? Yes it's being added in September and hopefully it's on TV LAND as long as Good Times. retrochick9 04-15-2006, 01:46 PM Yes it's being added in September and hopefully it's on TV LAND as long as Good Times. :tehcool: JeffRuss1972 04-15-2006, 11:52 PM I'll be glad to see The Jeffersons on TVLand. PrettyinPink55 04-16-2006, 12:19 AM I'll be glad to see The Jeffersons on TVLand. Ditto!!! TVFactFan 04-16-2006, 01:01 AM I'll be glad to see The Jeffersons on TVLand. If the Jeffersons Board is not as active as Good Times once September gets here, i might leave StcomsOnline-lol That would prove that there are not a lot of Jeffersons fans on this site. GARFIELDKOOL 04-16-2006, 09:38 AM If the Jeffersons Board is not as active as Good Times once September gets here, i might leave StcomsOnline-lol That would prove that there are not a lot of Jeffersons fans on this site. That's the only way I see the Jeffersons board being active. I thought that Sanford and Son marathon a few weeks back would make that board active, it did for a few days and it died again. The S&S fans that are on this site, don't come there everyday. JeffRuss1972 04-16-2006, 10:33 AM It might CREATE alot more fans for the show as well. I think the GT marathon did that-lol Brian Damage 04-16-2006, 10:47 AM It might CREATE alot more fans for the show as well. I think the GT marathon did that-lol Agreed, besides, you have to keep in mind that fans might not have seen the show in years, so talking about specific episodes might be hard to discuss when you are only going by memory. TVFactFan 04-16-2006, 11:44 AM Agreed, besides, you have to keep in mind that fans might not have seen the show in years, so talking about specific episodes might be hard to discuss when you are only going by memory. I just wish the Jeffersons Board could be as active as Chico and The Man=-lol I would be here all day if members on this board talked about George on the Jeffersons Board the way they talk about Freddie on the CATM board-lol retrochick9 04-16-2006, 12:50 PM Yeah, I think if a show isn't on, you just won't get the people in the chat rooms. I forget about shows until TVLand, or some other channel, brings them back. Since they put Good Times on, I've been on this board almost everyday! TVFactFan 04-16-2006, 12:54 PM Yeah, I think if a show isn't on, you just won't get the people in the chat rooms. I forget about shows until TVLand, or some other channel, brings them back. Since they put Good Times on, I've been on this board almost everyday! It can mean that or that there are not a lot of fans on this board-lol JeffRuss1972 04-16-2006, 02:25 PM I have yet to see a full episode of Chico and The Man-lol, I may have to get that on a Television Favorites, but I do like the George Jefferson character. Ireneparalegal 04-16-2006, 04:53 PM I love Jeffersons. It is an awesome show. I can go by memory some of the time...but not alot of people can't. It doesn't make sense to try and talk abt something if others don't recall something. Watching the shows and then rapping abt them reminds me of watching a movie in the classroom and then there would be a conversation abt it. The only show I could strictly go by memory with no prob at all is I LOVE LUCY. I have seen this show continuously since I was five. It has always been on the air...so memory or watching it, is no problem, for the true Lucy fan. A show like the Jeffersons which isn't always on can be hard even if you have seen it many times in syndication. TVFactFan 04-16-2006, 06:16 PM I love Jeffersons. It is an awesome show. Ireneparalegal 04-18-2006, 04:15 PM I don't understand why they have not even aired The Jeffersons on TV Land yet. they will in September. Pretty soon, all the black sitcoms will be on TVland...(Irene prays COSBY SHOW doesn't!!) GCW 04-18-2006, 04:18 PM they will in September. Pretty soon, all the black sitcoms will be on TVland...(Irene prays COSBY SHOW doesn't!!) Oh no I am praying along with you Irene that they do not put the Cosby Show on TV Land. I have had enough of it on Nick At Nite. I think MAD ABT YOU took its time slot. :D Mr. Television 04-18-2006, 04:24 PM they will in September. Maybe the UPN sitcoms will air there someday. Ireneparalegal 04-18-2006, 04:25 PM Maybe the UPN sitcoms will air there someday. :faint: Auntie 04-18-2006, 04:45 PM It can mean that or that there are not a lot of fans on this board-lol I'm not a fan at all. Why would they have a marathon of this show is beyond me. I'd rather see 'Three's Company' or a 'Waltons' marathon on. Good wholesome shows. Not shows that talk about violence. We see enough of that with the news. Ireneparalegal 04-18-2006, 04:52 PM I'm not a fan at all. Why would they have a marathon of this show is beyond me. I'd rather see 'Three's Company' or a 'Waltons' marathon on. Good wholesome shows. Not shows that talk about violence. We see enough of that with the news. Good Times was not abt violence. Where is that at? It's abt life in the ghetto..unfortunately, for alot of families, violence is in their daily lives. They don't have the choice of deciding whether to live there or not. Mr. Television 04-18-2006, 05:07 PM I'm not a fan at all. Why would they have a marathon of this show is beyond me. I'd rather see 'Three's Company' or a 'Waltons' marathon on. Good wholesome shows. Not shows that talk about violence. We see enough of that with the news. Good Times was a wholesome show. It showed a real family who had to struggle through hard times but who in the end loved and cared about each other. Their should be more shows like that on tv. Its not very polite going to a tv shows message board just to diss the show. everett552 04-18-2006, 05:09 PM Good Times was not abt violence. Where is that at? It's abt life in the ghetto..unfortunately, for alot of families, violence is in their daily lives. They don't have the choice of deciding whether to live there or not. Amen! Moonlight Lady 04-18-2006, 05:46 PM I'm not a fan at all. Then why are you here? TVFactFan 04-18-2006, 06:00 PM I don't understand why they have not even aired The Jeffersons on TV Land yet. TV LAND did air the Jeffersons in December of 2002 GARFIELDKOOL 04-18-2006, 06:47 PM I'm not a fan at all. Why would they have a marathon of this show is beyond me. Auntie, I have had enough of your racist remarks on here! I have got to call you out on this because I remember you said something ignorant about rap movies of the 80s! Not only that, you said something racial about What's Happening! It's obvious you hate everything black orientated! Won't you admit you don't like black shows and movies?! Get off this board, because you can't relate to black stuff! TVFactFan 04-18-2006, 07:00 PM Auntie, I have had enough of your racist remarks on here! She slammed all men in one of her posts. GARFIELDKOOL 04-18-2006, 07:24 PM I didn't know Auntie was racist, i just thought he/she was ********-lol I wouldn't have called her a racist if she had not dissed those things I mentioned. it's just too much of a coicidence, she's a bigot, and everything else you and Sonny just said about her. Ireneparalegal 04-18-2006, 08:59 PM I'm not a fan at all. Why would they have a marathon of this show is beyond me. I'd rather see 'Three's Company' or a 'Waltons' marathon on. Good wholesome shows. Not shows that talk about violence. We see enough of that with the news. You are not a fan at all??? You know, you are not suppose to post on a thread in a forum just to DISS IT, say how you hate it, etc. Should we point out the rules to you? Stick with the TC forum. It's only a matter of time before she starts doing that over there as well. ThomasE 04-21-2006, 01:41 AM We don't want her over there either, with all her male-bashing. No one had better start bashing Richard Kline, right? LOL. Ireneparalegal 04-21-2006, 01:56 AM Good question Irene. It's only a matter of time before she starts doing that over there as well. with all those obvious religious references (avatar, signature, etc) funny (not really funny) how one can be so JUDGEMENTAL abt men, gays and other issues. Moonlight Lady 04-21-2006, 09:32 AM No one had better start bashing Richard Kline, right? LOL. LOL...I would not be a happy camper that's for sure.
