Following discussions in a recent thread about the Valley Killer, I did some digging and came across a recent article about the disappearances of Brianna Maitland and Maura Murray. Both women went missing in 2004. The disappearances occurred in Vermont and New Hampshire, respectively.
While the article primarily focused on those two cases, there is a mention of the Valley Killer. The cops argue that the Maitland and Murray cases are not connected to each other, and that there's no evidence to support the claim that a serial killer was involved. But a lot of people understandably disagree. In fact, the article notes that the Valley Killer's victims "physcially resemble Maitland and Murray."
The Valley Killer, as you may know, was given that nickname because he killed women in or near the vicinity of the Connecticut River Valley, which is the border between New Hampshire and Vermont. He last struck in 1988, with his failed attack on Jane Boroski. The fact that Jane survived may suggest that the killer had then gone into hiding.
However, given the 2004 cases of Brianna Maitland and Maura Murray, could the Valley Killer have struck again? You be the judge; the article is at the link below.
