View Full Version : What do episodes, "The Piano Movers" and "Lamont Goes African" have in common?
GARFIELDKOOL 04-12-2006, 08:15 PM They both had guest stars that told Lamont that they didn't like how he treats his father. If you hate Lamont like I do, you sure would have appreciated these lines coming from these characters. The piano episode, that weird man saw Lamont arguing with Fred and told Lamont he didn't like his attitude or the way he treat his father and told him he would get someone else to move the piano. In the other episode, the african woman who Lamont was trying to get with, she saw how Lamont was talking down to Fred. She was about to leave, and then explained how it wasn't his place to chastise Fred. I was like, "it was about time somebody told lamont off." If only his jackass would have listened to both characters.
comedyfreak 04-13-2006, 10:16 AM LOL! I thought the same way, in the first season Lamont was at his worst.
JeffRuss1972 04-13-2006, 12:41 PM I actually prefer Lamont in the first 2 seasons, even though he was an a$$-lol At least he had a character. By the last few seasons he just seemed like a zombie or a cardboard character. JMO
matman2k3 04-23-2006, 07:55 PM I hadn't seen the show for a number of years when I bought season 1 when it came out. I had forgotten how crabby Lamont was! I thought he was very disrespectful to Fred in the first episode! I could never act that way with my dad nor would I. Fred Sanford was the reason many of us watched(and still continue to watch)the show.

yep, Lamont was very rude in that first episode. but it was funny.
panamaniak 01-29-2010, 11:43 PM Yeah, but he went from "evil" Lamont to "go with the flow" Lamont in no time flat! Lol!!

Exactly - I wish they'd kept "evil" Lamont longer!!!
Marvo301 01-30-2010, 02:25 AM Lamont may not have treated Fred very well but Fred didn't treat Lamont very well either. That's what made the show funny. The give and take between these two ornery characters.
MikeLutton 01-30-2010, 02:27 AM but u know they loved each other like family father and sons argue all the time but not like them my 2 favorite charactors, and also funnier when Aunt Esther showed up

That sums it up, and thats why this is such a great show.

That's right!! I loved it when they had company, would get mad at each other, storm into the kitchen, scream at each other, and go back into the living room with huge smiles on their faces. Priceless.

I liked the relationship between Lamont and Fred. As others have said, it is part of what made it such a great show.
Some of the episodes were built around Lamont's personality, like "The Older Woman", where Lamont's sudden agreeability arouses Fred's suspicions that Lamont is in love.
It is a testament to Demond Wilson's great acting since he evokes all of us to either love Lamont or dislike him.
Gold and Red 02-16-2010, 12:47 PM When I saw the first episode I was like "wow! Lamont treats his father very poorly". But as the show goes on you can see why he gets so frustrated at his father. Plus Fred gives it back twice as hard lol:lol:.
rollo's girl 01-15-2011, 05:35 PM ...as Rollo so aptly put it in "Steinberg and Son", these two "nothings" really loved each other. That's why I love the show. The whole bunch argued and insulted each other and were always into it about something, but they all really loved each other. How many of you know a real-life family like that? I know I do.
