Hi!
I'm doing a student project for Video Production in which I'm taking Gilligan Island clips and editing them together to make them resemble episodes of tv show Lost.
Unfortunately, there are about fifty hours of Gilligan's island footage, and so it's hard to go through all it in time for my project due date.
Could you point me in the right direction for which episodes might have some of the things i'm looking for/? I'm looking for episodes that have shots mentioning:
-Dynamite or other explosives; explosions
-Finding things buried, digging things up
-the word "hatch", statements like "how are you going to open it", "pushing a button", etc
-Any talk of "The others", a "security system"
-A bear?
Thanks so much for your help for this odd request.

-Dynamite or other explosives; explosions
X Marks the Spot: The Missle explodes at the end
Operation Steam Heat: The bomb they make goes off
-Finding things buried, digging things up
Three to Get Ready: The Eye of the Idle
The Big Gold Strike: Gold
Plant You Know Dig You Later: Treasure; cannon balls
-the word "hatch", statements like "how are you going to open it", "pushing a button", etc
And then there Were None: They fall in a WWII hatch
You've Been Disconnected. asks how they will open the cable.
-Any talk of "The others", a "security system"
Chain of Command: Gilligan kind of acts as a security system
Little Island Big Gun: Might work, talk of gangsters
Water Water Everywhere: Gilligan's put in charge of guarding water
V for Vitamins: Gilligan gaurds fruit
-A bear?
Never a bear on GI but a dinosaur in Secret of Gilligan's Island. Also on Dusty's Trail there is an episode with a bear. I can send you video of the scene if you need it.

Excellent choices GF.
I have a few other ideas:
In "Gilligan Goes Gung Ho" there's a scene where the Professor is showing Gilligan his homemade dynamite. And there's also a scene in "Ring Around Gilligan" that shows the Professor blowing open the door to the hut.
I know there are several scenes where "the others" are used in the dialog:
For example: When Gilligan and Ginger discover the secret of the mind reading seeds in "Seer Gilligan" I believe Ginger says "Let's go tell the others."
I also remember the Professor warning either Skipper or Gilligan not to tell the others. Usually involving some problem that he discovered and didn't want to worry the others.
As for security; the only thing that comes to mind other than the one GF mentioned is when the Professor used a "Watch Bird" to guard the briefcase in "The Invasion." Also in the dream sequence The Professor aka Chief of the Good Guy Spy Outfit mentions about pushing a button on the briefcase along the lines of "The case will blow up and you'll blow up too."
Instead of a bear, perhaps you could use the Lion from the episode "Feed The Kitty."
Also in "Gilligan Goes Gung Ho," at the end it shows Gilligan digging/tunneling very fast in order to get out of jail. And in "Waiting For Watubi," it also shows digging; although it's not much different that the digging scene from "Three To Get Ready." There's also a scene where they quickly dig up with their hands, the old box of Jewel Crackers in "New Neighbor Sam." However if you looking for some shots of folks looking down into a hole (hatch) there some in "The Big Gold Strike," "Water, Water Everywhere," and "Operation Steamed Heat."
There's also a nice explosion scene when Gilligan blows out the candles on a cake made with flash powder in "It's Magic," when the space capsule blows up in "Splashdown," when the WWII mine explodes in "Mine Hero," and there's multiple explosions in the episode "Bang, Bang, Bang."
Good luck with your project.

You're not the only one. I nearly forgot it myself. I only remembered it when I was going over my submission before I posted it. I wonder if it has something to do with it not being run much in syndication over the last several years.
