I just watched "Farmer Takes a Wife " from season 2 of The Andy Griffith Show and who should jump out of a pick-up truck in the opening scene but Alan Hale Jr. It was quite a surprise. He plays the part really well showing off his strength a few times picking up women like he picked up Gilligan now and again. They used Alan Hale with no Jr. in the end credits.
And something a little interesting was Alan Hale's character referring to Barney as "little buddy" quite a few times.

it's a rather funny episode. I like when he picks up Thelma Lou and Barney is so confused because he thinks he is talking about another girl.

I saw that one! I was surprised too when the Skipper pops up, lol.
