Caroline13 07-24-2021, 02:33 PM My first vacation in Hawaii was true paradise, and I resisted since I thought living where I do is a paradise of sorts, but Hawaii and the lush beauty and warm ocean. I would not want to live there but a wonderful sunny place to drop out.
Theda Bara 07-30-2021, 11:58 PM Neither,

At a point in my early retirement I had done some work to find an RV buddy and do the U.S. trip but then realized it could end up a disaster.
I'm happy living in my Seaside area in So. Cal....it's all been like a working
vacation.
Yong Fang 10-26-2022, 10:22 AM I wish I had the funds to travel more and I got to travel a lot in the 00's and 10's. Saw most of China (I live here now, and China is a beautiful country with lots of landscapes), Thailand (want to go there again because the country legalized marijuana, amazingly), Cambodia (hope to retire there), Laos and Vietnam (just the southern part). I also lived a few months in South Korea, fantastic food, but didnt care for most of the people. I wish I would have done the DMZ, but didnt). I have also been to the nation of Zambia in Africa.
In Asia....
Japan. Love East Asian culture in general. Would spend a few days exploring Tokyo, then going to Mt Fuji, then Nagasaki and or Hiroshima because of the Atomic bombing. Maybe work my way up to the northern island. Go see a Sumo match. Drink Japanese scotch, one of the best single malts in the World. Sleep in a coffin hotel (you can see what that is if you wish on Google.
Indonesia. Just to explore all the various islands, at least some of the larger ones, and experience the different cultures and enjoy the beaches. Would have to do Bali just because of its famous reputation. But when I travel, I tend to move and want to see things, hence the island hopping.
Nepal. Basically because of religion and culture. Just to say I went to Kathmandu. To be able to see Mount Everest. Not climb it but just to see it.
India. Basically would do a lot of travelling around in India. Start in Mumbai perhaps, and then go to Goa, then all the way to the southern tip and work my way back up. See the Ganges River, there is a famous city whose name escapes me which is a holy city to Hindus. India would be fascinating but challenging.
Sri Lanka. A wife of a good friend lived there for a bit and loved it and could probably see why. If nothing else, a lush, tropical country with temples (love religion) and good beaches and food. I would have to do my research if I was on a budget but if had all the money in the World would be a destination.
The United Kingdom, but only for a few days. Would like to see London although I have heard lots of negative things. Would like to see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, other touristy things. One thing I have found out recently is where my ancestors lived in the Middle Ages, which is about a 150 kilometers northwest of London. Would like to see Hadrian's Wall and possibly Stonehenge, although I would be prepared to be disappointed.
France, mostly for Paris. Do all the tourist stuff. Eiffel Tower, the Louve. Would research other historical things I might find interesting. Go see Omaha Beach where the Normandy invasion occured.
Norway and Sweden. Start in Norway and travel all the way north as far as I can go and then cross into Sweden and head south.
Italy, basically for Rome and all the historical sites which are innumerable. I love Roman History and the Colisseum would fascinate me, as with all things Roman Empire. Would go to Vatican City as a non Catholic.
Greece, mainly because of its ancient history, and the beaches and islands.
Switzerland and Austria because of the Alps.
The Czech Republic to mainly go to Prague, a fascinating old city. Drink lots and lots of beer.
Romania. To go to Transylvania. Especially around Halloween. Bucharest to see the World's heaviest building which was a superstructure built in the Communist times under Chauchescu, the dictator of the country. It is so massive, it still isnt totally used.
Turkey. To explore Istanbul and see the Hagia Sophia and just hike through the old city and the bazzars. Plus, I would have to find some turkey meat (if possible) just to say I have eaten turkey in Turkey.
Dubai would be interesting for a day or two and being able to see the tallest building on Earth. Been in the airport but didnt venture into the city.
In South America, I would start in Peru, then Equador, and then work my way down to Chile, all the way to the southern tip of South America, then over to Argentina to Buenos Aries, then to Uruguay (pot stop, marijuana is legal there!) and then up the coast of Brazil to Rio De Jenerio.
Hawaii (or Hawai'i) would be fun to explore the different islands. I would probably pass up Hawaii (or Hawai'i) for Tahiti, because this is the most scenic island in the Pacific. Hawaii is American and want to see foreign nations.
Caroline13 10-26-2022, 01:49 PM I had the pleasure of meeting a young woman yesterday who delivered my groceries, she was very pretty and I told her so and asked where she is from and she was born of parents one from Haiti and one from Belize and the parents moved to Montreal and that's where the young lady was born, and she now is married and is happy living in CA.
With all it's faults, CA is a good place many call their home.

Oh I missed the Original reason, if I had seen that good chance I would have not replied since those programs were not high on my shows. I don't recall seeing either of them.
