When I broke up with my first fiance, everybody and their mother was trying to set me up with people that they thought would be perfect for me. One blind date I had, I picked the girl up and was totally unattracted to her. I decided to still give it a shot and we went out on a date. This girl was all over me and wanted to have sex on our first date. I only knew her for a couple of hours. True story, I gave her an old television set of mine to get her away from me. So basically, I paid her off. lol
On another blind date, the girl was nervous to meet me, so she asked me to meet her at her friends house. The whole date I spent in this friend's house watching tv with her and her friend. It was a total nightmare! Blind dates suck! So the moral of the story is BEWARE OF THE BLIND DATE! Anybody else have any nightmare dating stories?

My blind date turned out pretty good, i ended up marrying the guy!!
but yes, i've heard some SERIOUS horror stories. One girl I know went on a blind date, and she ended up meeting her cousin. Turns out the girl who set it up didn't know they were related, and my friend didn't recongize the name when she said it, so she didn't realize she was about to go out on a date with her 3rd cousin until she saw him and recongized the face.

I agree that blind dates can be sucky! LOL
I started talking to this guy on My Space and ended up arranging a meeting in a public place so we went for lunch. There was absolutely no chemistry there; he got his order wrong and spent more time fixing it than talking to me. There was also the dreaded silence a few times and he also cut me off short after 1/2 hr. His loss :p
Another date this guy that I also met online..We went for pizza. He was there early waiting for me and brought chocolates and flowers (awww) but that didn't make me go head over heels or anything. We talked for a little longer than that other guy, he listened to the things I said (very important) and after awhile we parted ways.
After being divorced for 4years now, I just take the time to meet some people and if there's no click it's no big deal.

The only time that I dated was when I was in my teens. I never had a blind date. I got married at 18 and that was that!
Brian, you really make blind dates sound appealing! I hope that I am never in that situation.

Another reason not to go on them is you might get somebody ugly as your date

I went on one in HS. Well, I knew what the guy looked like, but I'd never talked to him or anything. Ugh...worst date ever. I just wasn't into even talking to the guy; he was unattractive and he smelled funny. I only went on the date because I thought it would be mean to say no. I ended up sort of dumping him at the dance by going off and spending more time with my friends. Made me look like a bitch, but oh well I guess.

Blind dates as a rule are generally bad.
The best way to do it is double with the other couple - the person who is setting you up and their significant other.
That way you play a zone, and it is much more comfortable.
