I know what you mean about the big star thing. But Diana Ross was there, and I see her as a bigger star than Janet. Even though her last hit was in 1984, Diana is an icon diva.

Janet Jackson wasn't apart of the Original Cast so she didn't need to be there. In all Honesty, Johnny Brown didn't need to be the either. Just John amos, Janet Dubios, Ralph Carter, Jimmy Walker, and Bernadette Stanis

All right now. Be nice you know who. She was a part of the cast. Bookman was there and I still think that Janet could have been there. IT really does matter to me. It would have been nice to have seen her there. John Amos was given an award along with the rest of the cast from MaryTyler Moore and he was not intergal to the show. She could have shown up. I just wanted to know some factual information. If anyone has any facts, post them please.

I doubt that she was asked, and even if she was asked she probably just decided not to attend, I know I would've. I wouldn't want to sit through that long boring "awards" show that doesn't really amount to anything.

Wouldn't they have had Janet to sign a release to legally show the clip- or did she (or her parents) sign away all future rights to her GT images during the show's production? I'd be interested to find out!

Janet is in the studio finishing up her album slated to drop this year. It would have been nice to see everyone there. She didn' have to go, but someone could have made a video tape of her and chip fields together. as for Johnny brown-Bookman was the punchline of the show. He had every right to be there. as for ben, is he still alive? where was lenny the looter? i think sweets died.

Yeah, Sweets died back in 1991. I heard the news on BET. He died from AIDS.
