well imma say who's the boss? not b/c its my favorite show ill tell you why.. it showed that women can be sucessful to and can run a household jus as well & efficient than an man . plus it shows that men can do wat was classified as "womens work" they can clean & be creative jus as well as women.

i know i couldda put like all in the family or something like that but who's the boss? is the most influential 2 be its helpin me answer a few q's 2 life.

I Love Lucy, All In The Family, Seinfeld, Married With Children, The Simpsons those shows have had tons of influence on Tv shows over time....

Seriously, what shows do you think were influenced by "Who's the Boss?".

I always hated the show, mostly because I can't stand Tony Danza...

I really don't see any influence this show has had on anything relating to TV or real life. Alyssa Milano was extremely cute, but other than that, what was there to watch on this show?

I Love Lucy, Who's the Boss? The Facts of Life (b/c the show IS about growing up), M*A*S*H (even though this show is overkilled in many areas too much these days, it had some impact, b/c at least it showed that you could have fun while trying to survive around military life-style), The Simpsons, and Good Times (minus J.J.'s annoying un-funny ass)

I think Married with Children, and Roseanne and THE WONDER YEARS were more REALISTIC portrayals of the average American family. While shows like the Brady Bunch, makes for good entertainment, how many people really have the perfect life, like that?

And I also reckon that Seinfeld makes us realise that even our own lives could be sitcoms. I used to have a friend and we'd always say when we had some bizarre situation, "this is like an episode of Seinfeld!"

I Love Lucy, without a doubt.

You can see traces of it in countless sitcoms.

I don't understand how anyone can say Who's the Boss is influential.
Exactly what great sitcoms have been influenced by that show?
What trend of comedy was brought out from that?

I all really depends on the era and what was on at that time....

I Love Lucy was influencial during the 50's, without it I think sitcoms wouldn't have lasted...

Gilligan's Island was influencial because it was really the first show not to center around a family household...

The Mary Tyler Moore Show was influencial because it was the first show based on a women's career...

All In The Family was influencial because it was the first Realistic family...

M*A*S*H* was influencial because it was the first show to turn real life hard times into something funny and enjoyable to watch...

Happy Days was influencial because it was the first major hit to be based on the past....

Taxi & Cheers were influencial because they were the first of the shows to be based soley in one setting...

The Cosby Show was influencial because it brought back the sitcom era and show a good family...

The Golden Girls was influencial because it was the first show to be based mainly on an older generation of women and explored many parts of there lives...

Roseanne & Married...With Children were influencial because they were first shows to bring out a realistic disfyncional family to the sitcom world...

The Wonder Years was influencial because it was the first sitcom to tell the past from an unseen character in the present...

Seinfeld was influencial because it was a show about nothing, lol...

Home Improvement was influencial because it equally balanced work and family life in one show like no other had done before...

Friends was influencial because it started a whole new era of sitcoms, The "Friends" era inspiring many rip-off's and copy cats...

The Drew Carey Show was influencial because it brought back work place comedys...

Everybody Loves Raymond was influencial because it brought back family comedys...

I think some think that WtB is a influential sitcom b/c of the courtship friendship that goes on between Anglea and Tony.

I don't think Roseanne was influential, I don't see a huge crop of realistic shows now - Malcolm in the Middle was always a weird take on that, Married with Children was extreme (so not realistic).

All In The Family, The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Good Times, Maude, M*A*S*H

I would say "I Love Lucy" too, mostly for the technical innovations and stylistic choices it made.

Also, "Seinfeld." I know it's not a popular choice for this kind of thing, but you have to admit that it broke a lot of ground in terms of storytelling and how it presented its characters.

All in the Family< Along with M*A*S*H proved that sitcoms CAN make a real point

Mary Tyler Moore < Showed women as witty & intelligent , instead of as "dumb blondes" ( I know Lucy was supposed to be witty in ILL...but, she was always devious, whereas the women in MTM were intelligent in the normal sense...well, Sue Anne excepted :p )
3's Company < While not a show i am particularly fond of, it seems to be the prototype for all the shows that feature nothing but sexual misunderstandings
Cheers< Show that took the sex farce , and made it classy/an art ( Sam and Diane years only )
Cosby< The first show to take a nightclub act and turn it into a sitcom , spawning such shows as Seinfeld and Ellen, among others

Family Ties- Because of the political humor

The Cosby Show-because it helped shape television for other black television shows.

I Love Lucy- the first sitcom to use that camera that most sitcoms and other shows use today.

Night Court - b/c it was the only successful sitcom to be set in a courtroom.

I love lucy b/c of technology
Three's company influenced the sexy in the sitcom and I'm not sure might be one of the first with a gay joke
Sanford and Son and All in the family influenced the racial jokes

I would say I Love Lucy....just showing a pregnant woman on tv in the '50's! The way it was filmed. The strong role of Lucy herself. For lots of reasons.
