I am currently "stuck in a rut" with my life. I am not happy with my current job and I'm looking to change that with a career but don't know what to do with my life. Anybody else out there; in the same boat as me?

I need input from others in the same boat or were once in that boat.
It's frustrating and it's driving me :crazy:

I hear what you are saying, 80s_fan. I am in the same position with different things. They are with some other things I consider "important" in my own life at the moment. But yeah, it really is life that we have to deal with sometimes.

I just had sort of a lengthy chat last night a bit like this with a friend about "sucky things in life" happening to me. I was frustrated, but I kept complaining. It's those times in life when we all have to sort of live through them in order to experience them in life, I guess....

Yeah, totally rutted.

I was in a terrible rut last year and really early this year, but the last two months have been really great for me. So I guess my advice is to keep a positive outlook on things.

i've been putting more faith towards God lately and hoping that things will get better, and they are... slowly.

just go. take general classes your first year, every major needs eng 101, some type of math, some kind of elective, be it Music or Histoyr or whatever. Do it now, or you'll regret it. Iv'e decided to go back, and i'm more excited this time around than I was the first (i already have an AA in computer technology)... just do it! You won't regret it!

I'm quite stuck as well. I have been for some time, and have no idea how to go about getting out of it.

If you're unhappy in your job, then I think you should leave. You say you don't know what do with your life; is there anything in particular that you like doing, that you could have as your career? I.e. if you like writing, you could possibly turn to journalism, or writing novels. Or if you like kids, then maybe you could be a teacher.

I'm with you! I have to get my master's to keep my teaching license, but I can't decide what I want to do....and I have an idea of my dreams, but I'm too scared to just jump and go after them. And, well, guess I'm just not all that happy:( oh well.
