The site is still there and functional. KonfusionFTC 03-28-2006, 06:09 PM lol it dont work for me either.. maybe its a westcoast blackout JoshFromKC 03-28-2006, 06:32 PM I tried to access the website with my AOL browser and it did not work. I used Internet Explorer and it worked fine. loren 03-28-2006, 06:36 PM I think you are experiencing ISP blackout. The site is still there and functional. who knows north carolina doesnt work wisconsin doesnt and the person above from the west coast and only the canada user can get in, interesting like usual, no one knows for sure pretty funny how users in 3 different parts of the us, can not get to the site usualy if theres a site rework, or upgrade theres a message and even a redirect link all it says is cant find as in doesnt exist Lamont 03-28-2006, 06:47 PM I cant get the site Loren cant get the site BUT JOKER CAN???? damn those Canadians!!! THE CONSPIRACY WIDENS!!!   add chicago metro area to the no list i just heard from indiana, and its a no go there as well maybe the joker hacked in and cut us loosers out of course since im not an ioffer member at all i just love all the people who are crapping their drawers about now how will i support myself seriously there are many things legal in canada that arent here in the states back when sat tv cards were the big deal it was that way canadian people could run adds and openly sell codes the us folks couldnt at this point, who really knows??? JoshFromKC 03-28-2006, 07:49 PM I am in Missouri and am having no troubles logging in or anything, also, iofferstores.com is just a link to the stores tab. iofferclubs.com also links to the site. Weird that so many people in the US cannot access the site. arthurspooner 03-28-2006, 08:00 PM I live in the Chicago area and I'm having no problem getting on ioffer. y2k3Joker 03-28-2006, 08:08 PM This is the same as the time when I couldn't access freeweb sites, but all of you could. padre 03-28-2006, 08:35 PM Watch this be something simple like their Domain Name (ioffer.com) expired and somebody forgot to renew it - it happened last year with Microsoft, same symptoms. It would make sense that some people can get there and some can't (DNS records age out differently from server to server). scottdvd 03-28-2006, 08:41 PM I can access it fine, as can others I know. padre 03-28-2006, 08:44 PM Yup, its a DNS problem. For those of you who can't get to www.ioffer.com, try going to http://63.211.140.209/ That's the same server (bypasses DNS). See if it works for you (worked for me, when www.ioffer.com doesn't) Kevin Lamont 03-28-2006, 08:47 PM Yup, its a DNS problem. For those of you who can't get to www.ioffer.com, try going to http://63.211.140.209/ That's the same server (bypasses DNS). See if it works for you (worked for me, when www.ioffer.com doesn't) Kevin WHEN i try that new link u sent padre, it takes me to the ioffer home page BUT if i try to search for an item THEN I get an ERROR CANT FIND SITE message padre 03-28-2006, 08:52 PM Lamont, it's because some of the links are hard-coded with the DNS name. They'll fail as long as DNS is having problems. If you click on Sell or some of the others, they work because they don't need DNS. Look at the link info in the bottom of your browser when you move your mouse over the link - if it says something like www.ioffer.com/search - its not going to work for now. If it says http://63.211.140.209/seach - it'll work. It's probably just a temp. problem. I've fixed these types of problems in my real job, but the hard part is DNS takes a while to catch up (something called "time to live" has to expire before the records are refreshed - techie stuff! :) scottdvd 03-28-2006, 08:55 PM Someone from ioffer posted this: " Network issue Posted: Mar 28, 2006 11:09 AM Our network provider is currently experiencing an issue that may affect certain users ability to access the site. They are working hard to get it resolved ASAP and we will let you know when they do." Lex Luthor 03-28-2006, 09:42 PM Well it does not work for all Canadians mine is down too |
