Is the house that is shown in the title sequence really the actual one? I've gone by that one in Hollywood and while the house looks like it could be the same one, the setting sure is different. It's on what is pretty much a standard-sized suburban (albeit posh) street, while the TV version appears as if it's on some huge, bluff-like lot. Maybe it was like that fifty years ago? Or maybe it was just doctored to seem more bucolic than it really was?

I always thought the house they showed in the opening, was their real house. I know what you mean...I saw a picture of the house (when it was for sale), and although the house looked the same, the surrounding area didn't.

....the actual Nelson home in the opening credits of the show. The interior (recreated on that General Service Studios soundstage for 14 years) was as close to their real home as possible...right down to the eagle over the fireplace! Ozzie mentioned this in his autobiography, "Ozzie" (1973).

Well, that's interesting. I didn't know that... :)

Sadly, the Nelson house is no more. The house was sold to a couple who promptly had it demolished, and a new house was built on the property. Supposedly they were going to put some photos of the Nelsons in the home as a tribute.

I wish someone would air this show. We used to get the Nostaglia Channel, and they carried it, but our new cable company doesn't.

Yeah, it should be on, I don't know why Dave doesn't get it onto one of the cable channels. The DVD's that are out are very poor quality, does he wish the show to go to the sitcom graveyard? Every once in a while I pull out my tapes of the show, but would be nice to add some more eps to my collection.

It would be really nice to see some of the shows. I have a couple of old tapes of the shows, but many are of a very poor quality. I wonder what shape the shows are in? If they are as bad as some of the ones I have, I can see why they aren't airing. But there were just so many episodes, that I can't imagine they would want to let this time slip by. The people that watched the show when it originally aired, and people like myself, who caught it in reruns, are getting old! My kids don't even know what the show is, nor would they probably watch it. I hope they decide to put it on a DVD set...now that would be wonderful!

That's too bad about that house. It was a piece of TV History! I wonder how many other old tv show houses are still around.
