Wednesday, March 22 marked the fifth anniversary of the passing of William Denby Hanna, at the age of 91. Hanna and his partner Joseph Barbera are credited with, among an amazingly huge chunk of cartoon history, producing and directing the original Oscar-winning MGM Tom & Jerry shorts.

The legacy Hanna helped create lives on.

R.I.P., Bill Hanna. He was one of my childhood heroes. And a long life to Joe
Barbera, who recently celebrated his 95th birthday. He and Bill created lots
and lots of great memories for our generation (and later generations).

The "Tom and Jerry" cartoons are some of the best cartoons ever made!

RIP, Mr. Hanna
