I am old because

I remember when milk ads used to air on commercials and the slogan was "Milk does a body good."

I remember McDonald's Arch Deluxe burger.

I remember when KFC used to be called Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I remember when their was competition between cable and satellite and cable companies aired, "Down with satellite dishes. Up with cable!"

I remember when most home computers had no internet and computer games were the main entertainment for the compputer. My computer also ran on DOS.

I remember the OJ Simpson trial from the time he was accused of killing Nicole and Ron to his acquittal.

I remember when they first came out with Caller ID and I remember when they first had the BIG cellphones. You know, the ones that look bigger than cordless phones.

When I was growing up, NOBODY had minature cellphones like they did today. They had the big chunky cellphones. I think that's called mobile phones.(see above)

When I was little, everybody either jammed to cassette players. CD players were not very popular yet.

I lived through Hurricane Andrew, and I can remember everything in detail.

I remember watching The Little Mermaid when it first came out to video.

I watched Aladdin in a movie theater.

I watched The Lion King in a theater too.

In my elelmentary school, students watched Darkwing Duck and Tales spin.

When I had to look for books at the library, I had to do it manually, by looking through the library;s wooden catalogue.(the one that is NOT electronic).

I remember watching a KFC commercial that had Carly Simon's voice singing "Nobody Does It Better" as the voiceover song.

I remember watching the children's show, "Alice In Wonderland".

I remember when TV used to go out at night and would stay out through the early morning. I remember seeing "Snow" and "the vertical color lines that had a buzz sound to them " on my TV where there should be a show.

I remember when the TV Guide used to be the Prevue Channel.

I remeber when The Weather Center used to be called The Weather Channel.

You think you guys are old?? I can remember HOWDY DOODY, THE ROY ROGERS
SHOW, THE LIFE OF RILEY, THE STEVE ALLEN SHOW, Paul Winchell & Jerry
Mahoney, and the original DRAGNET (to name a few). George Reeves (not
Christopher Reeve) was Superman. There was a comic book based on nearly
EVERY popular TV show--and comics were sold everywhere (supermarkets,
drugstores, dime stores). Now some of you are saying "What's a dimestore?'
There were no CDs or even cassettes. We had phonograph records. and
the album art was HUGE (you didn't need a magnifying glass to see it). I
even remember the last years of the Golden Age of Radio, when you had to
use your imagination--there were no pictures. My favorite shows were BIG
JON & SPARKIE and THE LONE RANGER. There was drama, mystery, suspense,
comedy, and variety all on the radio dial. Today it's all music and commercials
and (yuck!) talk shows. The "good old days" were (in my opinion) pretty darn
good.

We're more than 17 years older than when this thread was created...! In fact, "tv star collector," whose post is here, has since died. :(

Seems like there's some unknown incentive to dig up very old threads and re-present them...

I agree in that I hate seeing these threads from long ago brought back for no apparent good reason.

How do you know that TV Star Collector has died?
