But try not to post questions like that on the board, because to someone who is not in the know on the situation, it can appear like there is a problem or something when there is not

i use AOL and sometimes, email, especially from HOTMAIL or a few other servers, does NOT go through quickly, sometimes it gets delayed for 2 hours or 2 days, so send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE if u dont get a reply in the first day, and be sure to always send a 2nd attempt if u dont hear back

that way people dont get the wrong ideas, and the gossip doesnt start

ha ha ha

thanks guys

He probably was, Loren! He ignored my PMs for a month RIGHT AFTER he told me he had something I wanted! (one of my PMS even wished him luck with something he was going through with some traders) It was only when I asked him publicly "what his deal was" that he PMed me back with excuses and then told me what I wanted a month ago was kinda silly but he'd check his stuff anyway...

..and that was weeks ago. He must be busy with other things and it's cool. I'm not gonna PM/bother him anymore. I don't have anything to trade to him anyway. He seems like a pretty good trader though and he has a lot of good stuff. No offence to Lamont if he sees this. I just figured this would be a great place to post this since a few others aren't sure about him either.

Popskull- u had posted that u wanted Patty Duke Show--- I replied that I had a complete set

U had questions-- i can understand that
but---
1. No Offense, But the questions u asked were stuff like

PATTY DUKE SHOW

"does this episode have a logo from this network?"
and
"are these eps from nick at nite, and so on and so forth, and questions about commercials and so on

i was not trying to be rude
but i did answer u that the eps had no logos on the ones i saw and i THINK they are from local syndication

im not being rude, its just that 1. i have answered as best i can, 2. I am not able to check each episode for those type of specifics, and 3. this is same 22 disc set that everyone has---- and once i answered that, i was not being rude, but when someone is looking for something super specific, like----

I only want Crapola Theatre, from the airings on the WXYZ Cable channel from 1993, u r gonna have a hard time finding EXACTLY what u want

U posted this about PATTY DUKE ALSO

"5,9,34,35,36 of the Patty Duke Show. I do not want the episodes with the original commercials from the 60's please...." etc, etc---

I generally try to trade the set as a whole, not just this ep and that, as it is a much more time consuming matter to pull off certain eps and do custom discs---
I see u also posted wanting MR ED from ONLY certain airings on a certain Network, I also have complete Mr Ed, but it might not be that exact airing

I was not trying to be rude to you, but I work a full time job, and trade on the side, and the info I put out, is all I have, i am sorry if you felt I blew u off, but im not an expert on the show or the airings and I have a lot of shows like that, that i cannot answer those precise questions on

sorry u took it wrong and take care

i was trying to make a easy point

that asking on a post like the two folks did

looks real fishy, and like whonever, was ducking them, or shipped town etc

what somene choose not to answer you about

is a totaly different issue

and im certainly not involved with that

and will not comment on

i only tried to point out that public where are yous

look very poor, and cast a dark shadow on even the most upright people

im lucky enough to have a net provider that doeant mess with emails and has good filters

all the time

my emails get lost

aol is the worst

then a person contacts me from their work email, and theres no problems

aol sucks in my book

as does web tv, compuserve, mindspring, and a few other

Lamont

I wont comment on any particular users
BUT there are some who get worried, if u dont reply in 15 minutes

As for the 2 folks who posted at first, both of them are not to blame, AOL email is delayed sometimes from some other ISP providers, MANY of you can vouch for that and have had similar issues with AOL--- and both of them are fine and in the midst of trades as we speak

as for popskull, again, nothing personal, but i gave the basic info i had, and i am not about to search through the whole 22 disc set (which by the way has the eps in random order, so finding the eps in question would take too much time) to pinpoint what stations it aired on and the year it aired, etc

my suggestion is that if you want to get the show, get the sets that are available and that should be good enough---- sometimes people want original airings with commercials, and sometimes its out there, but 99% of the time, u aint gonna get exactly what u want, so u have to work with whats out there :p

Yeah dude - I think you're right. I hate hearing about what a stickler I am. I can't get over it though. I did find a guy who had EXACTLY what I wanted.. but he made me call him and he got really weird. Before I knew it, he was calling me everyday while I was at work, leaving me these long voicemails about his phone habits and arthritis. His last voicemail he said "I was hoping we could be Patty Duke friends and have a great relationship" and meanwhile I'm thinking.. Are we going to set up a trade or what? Stop mumbling to me about the time you met Patty Duke and give me the stuff!!!!

So Lamont, I'm sorry. You're right about working with what I get. I'm still learning how trading goes. (I don't even have a DVD burner.)

theres nothing wrong with being very specific in your collecting wants

but please realize

very few people worry about what station, etc on things

it just great to get the older shows

regardless, if thats what you choose to want

then go for it

but understand that 99% of all collectors are not going to take the effort to research every episode like that

its not that they hate you, its theyeither dont know what to look for, or like me--have been down that raod before and it is a 100% waste of time, never has panned out even once

your phone call buddy

thats a funny one

i know someone from chicago who likes to call 20 times a day on the phone phone and needs friends

maybe we should hook them up

If I could upload the last voice-mail he gave me, I would.

I called him the night he told me to for the first time because I thought it was to set up a trade! He told me in an e-mail that he had EVERYTHING I was asking for PERFECTLY!! All he talked to me about when I called was how his VCR worked and about his cat. I brought up our e-mails and reminded him of what I wanted and we got back on track.. for a little while. Hearing him go into specifics about when he recorded the shows from Nick at Nite and kept the commercials (even telling me about some of the commercials and Nick at Nite promos).. it got me even more excited! I was, no doubt, JUST what I had been hunting for! - Then, he started talking about how he couldn't type anymore e-mails because of his arthritis acting up and any more business discussed had to be over the phone. (and he, all the time, talked like he was drunk and picking scabs off his lips or something) I didn't think we got too much done. I wanted to hurry and set something up. (I could only take so much of his mumbling and stuttering.. I know it's terrible but I'm only human, right?)

When I got home from work the very next day, I had 9 voice mails and 6 of them were from him!! I'll never forget that! I was pretty mad and that was how it all started. It turned into an everyday thing!! When my cell-phone rung, my teeth would grind! I forgot all about the videos. I'd screen all his calls and then hear a beep that meant I had a new voicemail.. AFTER EVERY TIME HE CALLED!! I'd come home from work to a few voicemails a day in which he'd SLUR the exact time, and he'd always wanted to know where I was and why I wasn't picking up my phone.

Well, in typing all this, I'm realizing I guess it was kind of a jerk thing to do. But I tried e-mailing him asking him to stop calling and he ignored those, so.. Whatever! The only time we actually talked was that first night. All the voice mails pissed me off and made me loose interest in the whole thing! I couldn't stand to even look at Patty Duke's face when all this was over.

I noticed through-out the course of the month, his voice-mails were getting a little angry and it started getting funny; this drunken, old guy cussing at me because I'm ignoring his calls. I told people at work about it. When I'd go out to eat with my friends, I'd bring my phone to let them hear his crazy voice-mails. My brother thought it was halarious. My girlfriend even started calling him "my boyfriend!!" "Your boyfriend called."

Well, one day, I e-mailed him saying the calls had to stop. (I was a little hesitant, cause it turned funny among me and my friends like I said, but only because he was getting angry and slurring swear words with a heavy New Jersey accent)

His last voice-mail was actually worth the wait. He calls and says "I don't think our relationship is going to work out. I was hoping that we could be Patty Duke friends. Maybe you'd come up here and stay with my wife and I and we could watch the Patty Duke Show all night or something. (then, the "wrap it up beep" sounds and he never understood that the phone was still recording his voice afterwords.) I hear "aaaAAAAAHHHH!!! Go to f*cking hell, you son of a bastard! Drown in sh*t and DIE!! What an A**HOLE!! .. ... Hang this up!! HANG THE.. ... uuuh.. where's it at.. ...... ...evil b*tch!! ..."

I woke Tina up to play the message for her. I have it on my computer. I'll never part with it.

Anyway.. ... so, yeah. I guess if anyone has the Patty Duke Show complete seris, please get back to me. I'll "take what I can get". I'd like to think that all of that was part of a lesson to me about just taking what I can get, right? It's not worth it to be so particular.

That's the funniest trade story I've heard so far.

And another reason why you should reveal as little as possible about yourself when dealing with people you don't know on the internet.

I know that lady in Chicago your talking about. She called one guy in North Carolina about 30 times in one day, and another in Buffalo, N.Y. another 30, crying that people didn't want to talk with her, that's after she got someone kicked off Ioffer.

Okay, Sounds like you've got some touched people there.

But I've got a couple of traders from those cities that are wanting
to trade with me. So I'm kinda hoping that you guys can shed
some light on who these people are so that I can stay out of
the freak zone.

otherwise it ends up making myself and some others sit there and
wonder "Are they talking about my next trade" etc.

Cmon guys, Pony up with some info here or lets go to a different topic.

This trader has been "hinted at" in about 6 threads this week.

For the sake of confusion, and risking other peoples reputation my advice is simple.

If you are discontent with a trader- you always have the right to say so.

That is what the feedback forum is for.

Please try to remain polite, and factual
and while posting personal emails isn't needed, you may want to hold on to them should another inquire.

If enough complaints are made, and or a more intense complain than a trader merely shipping slowly- other actions and consequences might follow.
And for that fact, emails and or the history of the unresolved issue may be of help.

So please consider what you are saying and inferring- as many many read it-
And much confusion can be had -

You can contact me, or Eric- or even the owner if you wnat help mediating the situation.
If you are simply trying to raise attention and awareness there is the feedback forum- as well as the bad trader board and of course
Traders Report which is designed clearly and suitably for just this reason.
