If anyone has this in the original form, not transferred from the 1995 THX editions of the films, and is willing to sell it, for $50 or less, please let me know.

the end quality result will be CRUMMY!

i don't think a version exists like that on DVD. meaning you would need a transfer from a first generation original VHS cassette. mind you if your a DIE HARD you may not mind??

There is an alternative. They were issued on Laserdisc in widescreen. Digital stereo, but not THX. Some day I need to find out how easy it is to transfer my LD's to dvd (for that matter, I need to find out if my LD player still works)....

I may be able to help (no promises). I'm sure my uncle has this trilogy on laser disc. It's probably stashed away somewhere in his attic. I'll ask him to have a look, If I have any joy, i'll let you know.

laserdisc transfers with custom cases, some with nice menus and bonus stuff

they dont last long as they get pulled pretty quick and im not sure of quality
but they are usually about $45 for the set on ebay
