It was said by the host: "We first saw Florida Evans when she was on MAUDE..." LMAO!!!!!!!! What do you all think of that statement?

Guess that Mystery finally solved about Good times being a maude spinoff or not being1 cause Florida never metiond on maude and maude never metioned on good times kind slilly if u ask me anyway it was great to hear at the tv awards. JJ Looked great

I wondered abt that quote because it was planned ahead.
It was clearly stated that Florida's character on Good Times was the same character as on Maude. I was shocked that it was said only because of the debates we have had here regarding that issue. I guess I would never had paid attention to that detail had we not discussed it here.

I was also shocked that John Amos said "Thank You" to Norman Lear even though he had been fired from the show.

Even though I didn't see it LOL, I think that John has gotten over the whole thing about being fired. I don't think it hurt his career any. And yes I think Good Times was a spinoff LOL

Yeah, I agree. That's what makes John such a man...he doesn't hold a grudge...he moved on to bigger and better things.

LOL at your spin-off statement. Like I said, all those things are carefully written and planned...soooooo, I guess they made it pretty clear.

I have some new information from Jan of 74 that will STRENGTHEN my argument of Good Times not being a spinoff. I will post when I get it-lol
