yea, they mentioned "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" a couple times. In one episode, Oliver & Lisa go to see an inventor about something, and the guy's watching TV. When they come in, he turns it off and says something like "Oh, those beverly hillbillies. They crack me up all the time!" In another episode, the Ziffels are visiting with the Douglases, and Fred doesn't want to be there. He says something like "Arnold and I are missing 'The Beverly Hillbillies' right now." In another episode they put on a play of "The Beverly Hillbillies"-with Lisa as-GRANNY!!!:lol: :lol: :lol:

And don't forget the "Hooterville overnight Nielsen ratings":

Paul Henning created and produced the first two, and we know, from certain episodes, that the Clampetts and the Bradleys are somewhat "kin", and occasionally visit each other {Granny comes to Los Angeles the most, the later Christmas episodes where everyone gets together}.
Jay Sommers had been executive producer of "JUNCTION" before (and shortly after) he created and produced "GREEN ACRES", and used the Bradley family and the 'Shady Rest' as "the link" during the first season, with the Douglas and Bradley families trading appearances on each other's programs, extending into the next few seasons. Lisa and Oliver, however, NEVER meet the Clampetts (they're just a "TV family" in Oliver's neck of Hooterville).

Actually, the Clampetts and the Douglas' share Thanksgiving dinner together in "The Beverly Hillbillies" episode entitled "The Thanksgiving Spirit" that originally aired on November 27, 1968.

I kind of like the connections, I wish more shows had them.

ME-TV in Chicago has a pretty cool montage-like commercial, where characters in one show talk about another show. One of the clips is a character on "News Radio" saying "Did you know Arnold was actually played by six different pigs ?", while Green Acres was on in the background. Anyway, to stick with this thread's subject, they have a "Everyone's Talking about Green Acres" montage, where they show Jed from the Beverly Hillbillies saying "Hooterville's a mighty fine little town!"
