She looks so pretty, definately a mature woman now. She and Alison Arngram won the most in need of a time out award, it was a tie. Both even argued about who was more of a brat, it was hilarious.

View Full Version : Dee On The TVLand Awards!! comedyfreak 03-23-2006, 08:11 AM She looks so pretty, definately a mature woman now. She looked nice. I also noticed she was on some kind of crutches. Like she couldn't hardly walk. I wonder what happened to her. She looked crippled. :( GARFIELDKOOL 03-23-2006, 10:41 AM I did see Dee. She looked nice. I also noticed she was on some kind of crutches. Like she couldn't hardly walk. I wonder what happened to her. She looked crippled. :( I was about to ask that too. I know she was in an accident in the late 70s, but she should have healed from that. Not only was she on the crutches, but she got assisted on stage as well. I will say this, she is much prettier than she was when she was a kid. I guess some ugly duckings do grow up to be pretty swans. LOL TVFactFan 03-23-2006, 01:31 PM I was about to ask that too. LOL Let's now carried away now, she looked better, but what do you mean by MUCH PRETTIER????????????????? When was he ever pretty? Talk to me-lol GARFIELDKOOL 03-23-2006, 02:11 PM Let's now carried away now, she looked better, but what do you mean by MUCH PRETTIER????????????????? When was he ever pretty? Talk to me-lol No, she was an ugly child, but it caught me off guard how pretty she turned out. She looked decent in What's Happening Now! TVFactFan 03-23-2006, 07:17 PM No, she was an ugly child, but it caught me off guard how pretty she turned out. She looked decent in What's Happening Now! She is Average to me. 7 out of 10, hoosierelvisfan 03-24-2006, 08:33 AM She is an attractive woman, IMHO. But I was extremely curious as to why she was walking with a crutch?????? Apparently, none of us here seems to know. Such a pity, because my curiousity is getting the best of me. Signed, Respectfully, Dutch nerrad 03-24-2006, 02:23 PM I didn't watch the program, but did she look crippled? Did it look as if it maight've been a leg injury? Maybe she sprained her ankle or something. hoosierelvisfan 03-24-2006, 07:02 PM It wasn't the type of crutch that goes all the way up under your armpit like you see people use when they break their leg skiing or something. It looked more like that other kind of crutch that people use when they are crippled and can't walk. That's what made me wonder if she had an illness or something. There's no polite way to phrase it, I'm afraid. I was just curious to see her using that crutch/brace. Signed, Respectfully, Dutch ThomasE 03-25-2006, 12:21 PM I was startled to see that. I thought I was just imagining it, but no. I asked myself if she was crippled? I pray that she would get better. Anyway, I never thought to myself as Dee being ugly. I thought she was cute. Back in the late 80's when What's Happening Now was in first run syndication, one of my classmates would talk about how good looking Dee was. She did look good on the revival series. Danielle looked very pretty and the dress she wore was beautiful as well. Red agrees with her. CindyRoxiesLair2006 03-27-2006, 07:39 PM No, Danielle didn't break any leg or anything of that sort. The truth of the whole matter is this (and I know, b/c I recently found this out from the SOURCE HERSELF--Danielle): She was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) as of mid-2005, and it has unfortunately begun to affect her lower limbs--especially on her right side. :( And this is why she has to walk with assistance from the crutches/canes. But despite this, though, Danielle's done pretty well with routine therapy, regular checkups/visits, etc. And she is quite a strong person overall, as well as a good person to know & keep in contact with. Since 2001, it's been fun communicating with her, etc., thanks to my brother & sister-in-law knowing her & her husband for a long time through the present day. Danielle looks excellent, and she is a very beautiful woman overall. She gets prettier as she matures. ;) To be nearly 41 y/o and all, Danielle is well-maintained all around and it is natural beauty (no need for Botox, Olay, or anything else like that! LOL, not kidding)... I was at the TV Land Awards recently, thanks to my brother providing me & a couple of my good friends with tickets and backstage passes. It was very enjoyable all around, and it was even more fun in getting dozens of pictures of the main events therein, while getting to know some of the other classic TV stars as we sure did. That's all I have to say here. I only wanted to set the records straight on this item. Thank you.  Ireneparalegal 03-27-2006, 09:28 PM No, Danielle didn't break any leg or anything of that sort. My older brother had it and he suffered for years...he died in 2002. It is a horrible disease and it takes so much away from a person. I am saddened to hear that she has this. This is horrible. I hope she will get nothing but the best help she can get. ThomasE 03-27-2006, 10:19 PM Thank You for clearing that up for us. I really wanted to know. Do you think that she would do an interview of sorts? I, like others, would love to know what has been going on with her from when she first began with the show. CindyRoxiesLair2006 03-28-2006, 03:44 AM You're quite welcome for the information, everyone. It was really saddening and shocking for us to learn about, especially coming straight from Danielle herself, believe you me. :( And thanx much for the sincerity, Irene. I know you mean it.  I only come on here when I can, and also in order to clarify facts whenever possible (especially about our "strong sister", Dee/Danielle Spencer! LOL :) ) BTW, ThomasE! About Danielle and a "possible interview"... I'm very certain that she'd do one concerning her whole life line, and so forth. Since I just got back on Saturday evening (3/25/2006, when I left the LA area where the TVLand Awards/its festivities were held), I haven't thought about anything except for HER and how truly fun/enjoyable she is. I was out there for 2 weeks, as were my pals Andrea and Michelle, and we stayed in a suite that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. My brother & sis-in-law, plus their 16 y/o son (my nephew Tony), came down to that area from their Northern Cali home & they lodged right next door to us. And ThomasE...nice photo you have of MY two favorite "brat idols": Nellie and Dee, back to back! They were the only two that I truly identified with and looked up to, when I was growing up in the Seventies. Really! I got a couple of analog (regular, not digital) photos shot of them all, following the awards show, btw! I used my all-in-one digital camera-DVD recorder for motion shots after the show was said and done. comedyfreak 03-28-2006, 08:21 AM Poor Danielle, she's been through so much. I would've really loved to meet the Good Times cast, there's so much I'd ask them. I'd like to see these two couples in a new sitcom as a husband and wife: Sherman Hemsley and Marla Gibbs John Amos and Ja' net Dubois W/ Johnny Brown as a friend ThomasE 03-28-2006, 02:28 PM You're quite welcome for the information, everyone. Thanks for the compliment on the avatar. It is my tribute of sorts to both actresses. I want Danielle to know that there are many of us that do support her all the way!:talk: Ireneparalegal 03-28-2006, 02:45 PM You're quite welcome for the information, everyone. I am sorry to hear that she has MS and wish her nothing but the best!! Danielle was so funny during the TV Land awards with Allison. She looked fabulous too! :) CindyRoxiesLair2006 03-28-2006, 07:48 PM You're most certainly welcome for the information, Janet-Wood...and yes, with good ole prayer, successful & routine therapy, and strength (inner strength), our girl Danielle WILL get better from this. We know she will, and so does she! :) Oh yeah, watching that part with her & Ali Arngrim WAS a true delight and a show stopper. One "bad girl" was just as terrible as the other, eh??? ;) :p I love 'em BOTH!! LOL And btw, all of Danielle's hair IS her own. She's grown it out for quite a long time now (since around '95 or '96, from what she's told us directly and also, from the pics she's shown us of herself during my visits w/her and Garry) :happyface Anyhow, another point of interest surrounding our Danielle/Dee: She's lost just about all of her native New Jersey accent, after so many years (through now) of being a Californian. It's soooo cool to notice!! :p   Brieannas21 03-29-2006, 12:41 AM You're most certainly welcome for the information, Janet-Wood...and yes, with good ole prayer, successful & routine therapy, and strength (inner strength), our girl Danielle WILL get better from this. Thanx much, Briennas, I appreciate your sincerity as well. I come on here when and if I can, as stated before here... ;) Oh yeah, guys & gals! One more thing that I managed to find out from Danielle lately...it concerns her "parental unit". Even though Tim Pelt was technically her stepfather, Danielle tended to identify with him as her real father, no matter what. I promised her that I would not get into any real specifics concerning this matter, period...but I do know that she said that she identified VERY closely with him as that. He was a very good person to her, in her life when she was coming up and when he was living. Also, Danielle was (and still IS) very close to Tim's side of the family, as opposed to any other. That's all I can say about it for now. Just thought you'd like to know, though. And as always... Thanx much for the time!!  comedyfreak 03-30-2006, 10:39 AM [COLOR="DarkRed"] Oh yeah, watching that part with her & Ali Arngrim WAS a true delight and a show stopper. LOL COLOR] Dee may have been in need of a time out, but at least she never pushed anyone down the way that mean old Nellie did. CindyRoxiesLair2006 04-01-2006, 04:04 PM Dee may have been in need of a time out, but at least she never pushed anyone down the way that mean old Nellie did. True enough there, comedyfreak! LOL, I never gave that distinction much thought, though... But yeah, even though Dee didn't shove anyone down like Nellie did, it didn't mean that Dee wasn't thinking about it. After all, at the very end of WH Season 1's "The Maid Did It", after Mama tells Dee that she's "a regular J. Paul Ghetto" and laughs aloud along with Raj, Dee stares Raj down in the most spiteful fashion and THEN throws a ball of paper at him. She missed, though...LOL, LMAO   |
