View Full Version : Networks: What Will Stay, What Will Go? nickandmore 03-22-2006, 08:08 PM What do you think with stay and what will go next season on the networks? ABC CBS CW (what UPN and WB shows) FOX NBC Brent88 03-22-2006, 08:21 PM ABC Cancelled: Sons and Daughters George Lopez Freddie Alias(ending) The Evidence(the show looks horrible) In Justice Crumbs Jake in Progress(it may already be cancelled) Less Than Perfect TBD: What About Brian Comedy slaughter. Back: Everything else CBS Cancelled: King of Queens(stars want more money and the ratings, while decent, don't justify it) Still Standing Yes, Dear(confirmed) Close to Home CBS Sunday Movie Out of Practice Courting Alex Back: Everything else NBC Cancelled: The West Wing(ending on it's own) Surface Joey Scrubs E-Ring Will and Grace(ending) Four Kings Conviction Heist TBD: Teachers Thick and Thin(Is this ever going to air?) Back: Everything else FOX: The O.C. Bernie Mac Stacked(this might already be cancelled) Malcolm in the Middle(ending) That 70's Show(ending) The War at Home Free Ride The Loop Back in some form: Everything else(I may have missed something, FOX's 5 different schedules a year drives me crazy). CW Cancelled: From UPN One on One All of Us Half and Half Love, Inc Eve Cuts South Beach Get This Party Started Back: *Probably* Everything else(though Veronica Mars doesn't deserve it). From WB 7th Heaven(ending) Related What I Like About You Living With Fran Twins Charmed(Ending) Back: *Probably* Everything else I may have left some off, not as familiar with those two(I can't even watch UPN). troopoleon8897 03-22-2006, 08:38 PM CBS: King of Queens - I hope it stays. It has been doing well this season. How I Met Your Mother - I think it will go. Two and a Half Men - Of course its returning, its the #1 sitcom on TV! The New Advs. of Old Christine - I think it will be back, unless it takes a HUGE drop in the coming weeks. Out of Practice - I hope it will be back. But I gues the ratings will decide, since its moving to Wednesdays (tonight!). Courting Alex - I personally hate this show. I don't care, but I think it might return if the ratings to do good on its new slot. Still Standing - I hope it returns, but it doesn't look great. Yes, Dear - I believe its been canceled, but I wish CBS would continue it. You know that CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Without a Trace, NCIS, The Unit, Criminal Minds, Surivor, Ghost W. (sp?), Cold Case will return. The Amazing Race - They have moved it to a BAD slot. I think it would do its normal self if it were on Wednesdays at 8PM. NBC: Most classics and hits will surely return. I doubt that L&O (original) will do good in its new slot, but I think they will keep it for at least 1 more season. Scrubs - I HOPE TO THE LORD that it returns! Joey - Hit the road jack! Earl, Office - Have already been picked-up. Appentace (sp?) - I doubt it will be back at least in the fall. Maybe a sit out until next winter. Conviction - I do NOT think it will be back. You know that West Wing and Will & Grace are gone. ABC: I don't watch this channel, but I'm guessing that Sons & Daughters will not return or In Justice. CW: I just hold out that they will continue 7th Heaven. If not, let there be a spin-off that the majority of the cast would be on. FOX: The War At Home - I like this show, but I doubt it will return. Free Ride - It will be gone. Bones - I just don't know about it. It has wishy-washy ratings. It will do OK out of American Idol, but then suck on its own. So I say, ye...no - I don't know. 7th Heaven has already confirmed ending and TAAHM and HIMYM will return... Brent88 03-23-2006, 01:28 PM Out of Practice and Courting Alex are DEAD. An extra installment of "Deal or No Deal," 8.9/14, won the 8 p.m. hour for NBC. "Bones," 7.0/11, put FOX in second. ABC was third with "George Lopez" and "Freddie." CBS' comedies "Out of Practice," 4.8/8, and "Courting Alex," 4.5/7, each suffered big drops after moving from more comfortable Monday-night slots. "America's Next Top Model" posted a 3.6/6 for UPN, easily beating a "One Tree Hill" rerun on The WB. Everything new last night did awful except for Idol and Deal or No Deal. NBC has killed Law and Order. The Evidence and Heist are DOA. troopoleon8897 03-23-2006, 04:21 PM Out of Practice and Courting Alex are DEAD. I wanna see how It is gonna be next week with no Deal and no cross-over for george/freddie, I think they can do somewhat better next week... db108108 03-23-2006, 05:00 PM They're gone. CBS's line-up is too jam packed as it is to keep two marginal performing sitcoms around, even if they manage to improve a full ratings point. I think that TAR will be getting this timeslot next season. I would also exclude Lost from series that did aweful last night. It was a season low, but 16 million viewers is still a very decent number, especially when up against "Idol." Brent88 03-23-2006, 06:14 PM I wanna see how It is gonna be next week with no Deal and no cross-over for george/freddie, I think they can do somewhat better next week... Deal or No Deal is on next week... April 5th a Tim McGraw special airs and then E-Ring is *expected* to return... but it doesn't matter. CBS can't afford to air those, even if they somehow rebound and beat ABC next week(Alias is coming April 19th), so things won't get better... Wings#1ShowPeriod 03-23-2006, 11:51 PM There's always a possiblity either one might get picked up if CBS and the Kings of Queens Cast don't come to an agreement for a 9th season. But yea, things don't look to good for both shows. I'm bummed out about Out of Practice, I like that show alot.. Even if it doesn't make a difference I hope both shows turn it around and do better on their new timeslot until this season is over. Both shows are good to not come back next season. Pavan 03-24-2006, 12:27 AM George Lopez celebrates episode 100 next week with guest star Eva Longoria! Brent88 03-24-2006, 01:42 AM George Lopez celebrates episode 100 next week with guest star Eva Longoria! YAY! Hopefully she'll wear as few clothes as possible. ;) Mister Ed 03-24-2006, 02:04 AM I hope The King of Queens stays on. It's the only funny show left. TVJunkie101 03-24-2006, 08:17 AM I don't think Out of Practice or Courting Alex did that badly. But still, this is CBS, so... I really like Out of Practice. Courting Alex I could live without. What is it with CBS and always trying to put sitcoms on Wednesdays? It's NOT working. Stop. CBS: (most already confirmed) Two and a Half Men: 100% back How I Met Your Mother: 50% back (but most likely...) King of Queens: i think it might be back but I'm not sure CSI's 1, 2 & 3: LOL, like there's any question? NCIS: It's absolutely coming back Cold Case: definitely back Out of Practice: 50% chance but looking slim... unfortunately (move it back to Monday's if King of Queens exits) Courting Alex: not the greatest chances... The Unit: 100% back most likely Without a Trace: 100% back Yes, Dear: gone Still Standing: maybe but probably gone Criminal Minds: likely back but still TBD ABC: AFV: it will never leave Extreme Makeover - Home Edition: it's here to stay, IMO Desperate Housewives: of course it's staying Grey's Anatomy: staying and probably going to another night Supernanny: it's coming back, someway, IMO next season What about Brian?: to be determined American Inventor: oh it's gonna be back Dancing with the Stars: no way it's not coming back Hope & Faith: 50% chance Crumbs: not looking good (damn ABC) George Lopez: odds are it's back Freddie: a good chance Lost: of course it's back According to Jim: ABC seems to adore it so it'll be back Rodney: probably gone, god willing Boston Legal: it'll likely be back Commander in Chief: not looking great (Stupid ABC) inJustice: not sure, maybe Alias: confirmed gone Invasion: deserves another season but not the best chances Less Than Perfect: unless it does really well, probably not coming back The Bachelor: likely back in some form as a mid-season Miracle Workers: probably back as mid-season Jake in Progress: doesn't look good The Evidence: TBD... depends on ratings Wife Swap: definitely back NBC: Apprentice: despite anemic ratings, it's gonna be back Medium: huge dip this season but it'll probably be back Scrubs: 50% chance The Office: 100% back My Name is Earl: 100% back Joey: RIP Las Vegas: most likely back Conviction: 50% chance Will & Grace: already confirmed it's gone Deal or no Deal: definitely back in some form, it's doing great for NBC Fear Factor: they should make this a summer series it would do great Biggest Loser: back in some form Last Comic Standing: depends on ratings this summer E-Ring: I dont think it looks good for them but you never know ER: of course it'll be back All Law & Order's: Of course they'll be back, even the original despite it's BAD showing Crossing Jordan: likely back, it's a quiet performer West Wing: gone Teachers: to be determined Surface: I doubt it... but maybe Heist: TBD... ratings will determine it's fate soon FOX: 24 - it'll be back Prison Break - back Trading Spouses - back Nanny 911 - back American Idol - back The O.C. - back That 70s Show - gone House - 100% back Bones - 50% chance but probably might be back Stacked - looks grim Bernie Mac - 50% chance Malcolm in the Middle - gone King of the Hill - back in early 2007 Simpsons - back Family Guy - back American Dad - back War at Home - probably back The Loop - unclear right now Free Ride - same as the Loop Unan1mous - depends on future ratings but looks good to come back Hell's Kitchen - back for S2 this June Skating with Celebrities - probably back CW: Everwood: not the best chances... One Tree Hill: not the best chances... Veronica Mars: probably back but ratings are dropping Smallville: 100% back Supernatural: probably 100% back Gilmore Girls: 100% back America's Next Top Model: 100% back Beauty & the Geek: 100% back Reba: 100% back Living with Fran: not looking good Twins: not the best chances Modern Men: not the best chances Half & Half: decent chance it gets great ratings for UPN Girlfriends: 100% back Everybody Hates Chris: 100% back Smackdown!: 100% back Cuts/Eve/One on One/All of Us/Love, Inc.: most likely gone, but maybe one of them survives 7th Heaven: gone Related: gone Charmed: gone What I Like About You: gone South Beach: gone I probably left out a few shows... lol. Oh well. Bronx_Girly 03-24-2006, 09:51 AM I don't know about Law and Order. It's switching nights, and going to compete against American Idol. It's in a killer time slot, Wednesdays at 9. Although American Idol on Wednesdays is a half hour, the problem is that its hard to watch L&O from the middle. It's had falling ratings all year, and really will lose viewers on Wednesdays. I really would hate to see it go, but that's the only reason I can see NBC moving its time slot, after so many years. D-Dey 03-24-2006, 11:25 AM ABC Cancelled: Less Than Perfect I just hope there's going to be something remaining from the 4th season. treky 03-24-2006, 03:40 PM well, I know that NBC's canncelled "Joey" and all 3 "C.S.I." series will be back on CBS; also "The Amazing Race" dawsongirl 03-24-2006, 07:10 PM ABC In Justice CBS Courting Alex My mom really likes In Justice. Too bad it's not doing well. Courting Alex is so lame and boring. Jenna Elfman overacts thru the entire thing. dawsongirl 03-24-2006, 07:15 PM CBS: (most already confirmed) How I Met Your Mother: 50% back (but most likely...) Criminal Minds: likely back but still TBD Those two were already picked up a couple weeks ago. Mr. Television 03-24-2006, 07:59 PM Fox's Bones got renewed today. That's a good move. Now I'll wait for Prison Break. TVJunkie101 03-24-2006, 10:59 PM And WB's "What I like About You" was axed. FINALLY. Thanks Dawsongirl, for reminding about Criminal Minds and ...Mother. I can't keep track of all these shows. LOL. Scoobiedoo30 04-02-2006, 01:00 PM I think The Network's will Stay. troopoleon8897 04-03-2006, 04:25 PM I think The Network's will Stay. thats not what the question was...lol Raisingdad2004 04-04-2006, 06:36 AM CBS: King of Queens - I don't think it will, its too old and too expensive now - ratings are acceptable. How I Met Your Mother - Break-out hit eh? Two and a Half Men - Damn sure! The New Advs. of Old Christine - I imagine this will be back, ratings are strong but I am still waiting for Christine Wednesdays! Out of Practice - Wednesday? When you cancel 2 sitcoms on this day, moving 2 rookie ones doesn't seem smart does it? Courting Alex - Wednesday? When you cancel 2 sitcoms on this day, moving 2 rookie ones doesn't seem smart does it? Its a stupid show, but hey its relaxing for brains. Still Standing - Goner. Yes, Dear - Goner. NBC: Scrubs - If NBC don't pick it up, ABC will - DVD's are too strong not to. (NBC might already have T&Cs on the Scrubs Baby Content say the name will be announced in the premiere episode September 2006!) Joey - Hit the road jack! Earl, Office - They're coming back, I am not sure they will survive though - creativley. You know that West Wing and Will & Grace are gone. ABC: Crumbs - I don't see it happening Fredie - Goner. According to Jim - Yes, although its time to wrap up! Rodney - I imagine so. George Lopez - Maybe. CW: Everybody Hates Chris - I imagine, but UPN don't even advertise when its on - they slip episodes in now and again, what is wrong with them? Modern Men - goner. FOX: The War At Home - Don't see it happening. Free Ride - A show with good moments then FOX moments, ratings stink though - goner. I kept a few off that I do not watch/follow... Ronn Harmon 04-04-2006, 11:56 AM According to Jim and George Lopez will go another season even though there ratings have lowered. Law and Order Criminal Intent: was said to be in danger of cancellation due to Desperate Housewives slaughtering it, and the fact that NBC will have NFL Football on Sundays, but I have read it will return on Friday Nights at 10 PM Eastern in the Fall where it was shown in rerun for the majority of October and November after NBC's Inconceivable was cancelled after 2 weeks. |
