View Full Version : Guest stars who appeared once who I wanted to see more of
GARFIELDKOOL 03-19-2006, 09:18 PM Richard Ward-Al Banks, he appeared in episode "The Stung" he should have been brought back for occasional appearances. he was a good actor who got as much work as he could for a black actor for that period of time.
Scatman Crothers-Bowlegs, he appeared in episode, "The Stand-In" him and Redd Foxx had a good chemistry going, he would have fit perfectly in Sanford and Son. I know he starred in "Chico and the Man" at the time
Della Reese-another Redd Foxx comtempory, In episode, "Della, Della" the writers should have brought her back as a new love interest in the neighborhood for Fred. Again, another Chico and the man cast member.
Theodore Wilson-he appeared in a brief scene in one episode I can't remember. He was just somebody knocking at the door. But they could have brought him back as a Rollo type, or a friend of Rollo's. i know he was busy doing "Good Times" and "That's My Mama" but again, this was a time when work was scarce for black actors and actresses.

Me too. He was in an episode of Good Times as one of Sweet Daddy's henchmen, and he was also in the Sidney Poiter/Bill Cosby movie "Uptown Saturday Night" if you ever seen that.

Matter of fact, he also appeared in the Redd Foxx movie, Norman Is That You as a desk clerk(with comic book cartoonist Sergio Aragones) in a Mexican hotel.
jayjay814 07-31-2006, 04:27 PM I loved "A visit From Lena". That's one of my favorite episodes and I wish she could have came back for a few more episodes. In fact, wouldn't it have been sweet if she and Fred could have hooked up. I couldn't stand Donna, she was so phoney.

What was PHONEY about Donna?

She was more uppity than PHONY(that's how you spell it) I didn't like how she told Fred that there was another man that asked her to marry her, wasn't her and Fred was exclusive like most relationships? I didn't understand that one.
jayjay814 07-31-2006, 10:48 PM What was PHONEY about Donna?
I didn't like how she let her "patient" disrespect Fred in his own home, and then got mad at Fred and Lamont instead of getting upset with her patient.
Although I thought Lamont was being a real *$@, he had a good point when he said Donna immediately took the other guys side. She and her patient were both in the wrong, and that episode made me dislike her character as a whole because she seemed to have a double standard when it came to how she was allowed to interact with other men, and how Fred should interact with other women.
