Hi Folks

My first post on here (after finding this board on a Diff'rent Strokes site)

I just bought Series 1 DVD on eBay after having fond memories of watching Diff'rent Strokes on various UK TV Channels. My first thought was that I thought the boys looked a hell of a lot younger than when I watched it. And I was right. I was unaware that the show spanned an incredible 179 episodes and I had been watching some of the later ones (this was about 10 years ago) The one I remember most is when Kimberley has bulimia, and I also remember the Nancy Regan episode, be it in clips of the show or the actual episode I can't remember.

Even today the show still seems a bit hard hitting and slightly contoversial, like it says on the DVD box the show broke through cultural barriers. The thought of a singfle man being able to adopt a couple of young boys seems a tad unrealistic in the current day and age, but what the hell - it made a great TV show. I've never been a big fan of US TV but Diff'rent strokes has always been a favourite.

Unfortuantly the show no longer airs in the UK. I would have thought that some episodes would be avaialble on BitTorrent or other filesharing networks but the only one I have seen is the first one "Movin In" which I already have on my Series 1 box set. I hope to get Series 2 soon but none of the later Series have been released on DVD so far as I know leaving fans with no way of watching them
