James"Thunder"Early 03-18-2006, 09:56 PM The sleep timer is my friend, I hardly ever forget to put it on TVFactFan 03-18-2006, 09:58 PM Do you sleep with the TV on? I have for a few years, because my room would be pitch black and completely silent without the tv on. I used to just sleep with my radio on, but when I moved to the basement its was much darker. A nightlight doesnt do it for me, because I like the varied intensity of light that the tv has. I have the volume just low enough to where I cant make out what is being said. Isnt this supposedly bad for you and you dont rest as good? Just wondered if anyone else does this. Everything NIGHT.lol I can't sleep in complete darkness swedeace 03-18-2006, 09:58 PM I usually turn off my TV manually right before I fall asleep. If I remember, I will use my set timer. There have been a couple of times when I was dead tired that I have left my TV turned on. In those cases, I usually wake up in the middle of the night from the noise/TV glow, and then I would turn it off and get back to sleep. The glow of the TV bothers me, so I like to sleep in the dark. Brieannas21 03-18-2006, 10:02 PM No I have to have complete darkness. bandito 03-18-2006, 10:05 PM Everything NIGHT.lol I can't sleep in complete darknessDitto. Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 03-18-2006, 10:20 PM Same with me! Ever since I was little, I shared a room with my sister and if I was lying in bed with no noise or light, I'd hear every little sound and think someone was outside. So now, I sleep with my TV on although now my sis is getting annoyed and is trying to switch me to the radio. gilligan fanatic 03-18-2006, 10:24 PM nope, the sound would keep me up. At night the darker the better. I need pitch black and quietness to sleep MaydayMalonesGirl 03-18-2006, 10:29 PM When I was younger I absolutely could not sleep without the TV being on. Now it's the complete opposite. It's too distracting. Ireneparalegal 03-18-2006, 10:32 PM Do you sleep with the TV on? Isnt this supposedly bad for you and you dont rest as good? Just wondered if anyone else does this. I have a sleep timer on my t.v. so it never stays on. I sleep with the radio on all night. Im a big deal 03-18-2006, 11:01 PM i have a nightlight because im afraid of the dark. and i have a clock that ticks really loud but i dont even notice it. when my mom comes in and says goodnight, she always complains about it. and i always go to sleep with my eyes and head covered with my sheets but my nose is uncovered..so i can breath. snl 70s show fan 03-18-2006, 11:01 PM i almost always sleep with the tv on and for some reason i fall asleep best to nick at night the laugh tracks from the sitcoms help me fall asleep best Mr. Television 03-18-2006, 11:14 PM I usually sleep with the tv off but sometimes I leave it on. I can sleep either way. Georgia's on my Mind 03-18-2006, 11:16 PM No, it interupts sleep patterns. Raven-Symone 03-18-2006, 11:19 PM I don't sleep with the T.v on, I sleep with the radio on all night. Number 9 Dream 03-18-2006, 11:29 PM When I was younger I absolutely could not sleep without the TV being on. Now it's the complete opposite. It's too distracting. Same here...when I was 16, I was going through a bunch of emotional issues and therefore had a bad case of insomnia--couldn't sleep without the t.v. and even some sort of light on. Now it's the total opposite-- any noise whatsoever distracts me from sleeping. Brian Damage 03-18-2006, 11:39 PM I gotta have the tv on to fall asleep. Disney Guru 03-18-2006, 11:59 PM Hi, Normally i don't sleep with my tv or any lights, or anything on that makes noise because that keeps me from going to sleep. But when i'm dead dead dead tired i can sleep with the tv on which i have done a few times when i was so tired i just went to bed without turning it off. And woke up in the morning to the tv on, shut it off and got readdy for school lol. YoliUSA 03-19-2006, 12:13 AM I have to sleep in complete silence and darkness. ;) Fleet 03-19-2006, 12:51 AM I set the timer (one hour) on the radio. Have been doing that for many years, about 25. No lights/nightlights. Sometimes I set a fan up to a timer when it's warm. Heart Shaped Box 03-19-2006, 01:19 AM Noo way. I know this sounds weird, but I just listen to my CD player while I'm trying to go to sleep. Sometimes on the weekends if I'm watching TV I might fall asleep with it on. I think I did today, haha. But my brother does this every night. My mom lets him because he says it helps him go to sleep...yeah right. dawsongirl 03-19-2006, 03:10 AM Only if I'm so tired I fall asleep for a nap. Other than that it's too distracting. I used to never be able to sleep in the dark, but now I prefer it. I can't sleep in silence however. I have to have a fan running. I've tried radio, but that distracts me too, because half the time, I find myself listening to it too hard. Number 9 Dream 03-19-2006, 03:13 AM Noo way. Janice 03-19-2006, 12:45 PM I NEED to sleep with the tv on. I put it on a 90 minute timer, but I'm usually asleep within the hour. I'm careful to only watch sitcoms or other light fare. Anything too interesting will keep me awake. About two years ago, the cable went out and I had no tv. I didn't go to sleep until 7am. I'm not kidding when I say I need a tv to fall asleep. Jonathan 03-19-2006, 04:46 PM I NEED the tv on to fall asleep. Dutabi84 03-19-2006, 05:11 PM No TV for me. I need complete darkness, and some background noise, such as a fan.
