I love this show I record episodes of TBS. What I don't understand is why it didn't go so good during its original airing.

View Full Version : what killed this show ghd 03-17-2006, 12:22 PM I love this show I record episodes of TBS. What I don't understand is why it didn't go so good during its original airing. Scoobiedoo30 03-25-2006, 07:30 PM I think Bossom Buddies Got Low Ratings and that why Bossom Buddies got Cancelled By ABC MikeLutton 03-25-2006, 07:56 PM think when they finally got found out who they was that was jumped the shark and they went in 2 new buisness for themselves and that what brought low ratings ghd 03-26-2006, 02:01 PM Well I guess they shouldn't have revealed themselves because where was the entertainment in that robyrob 03-26-2006, 04:42 PM its hard to say what happened, the show was still funny - people just werent watching, and I guess that Tom Hanks was ready to get into movies by that point I dontthink that they shouldve revealed themselves so soon either, it sortof took away from the premise of the show. Mr. Television 03-26-2006, 04:50 PM its hard to say what happened, the show was still funny - people just werent watching, and I guess that Tom Hanks was ready to get into movies by that point I dontthink that they shouldve revealed themselves so soon either, it sortof took away from the premise of the show. I agree with you. I always enjoyed the first season better. They should have waited until the 4th or 5th season for that. comedyfreak 03-28-2006, 08:27 AM I agree with you. I always enjoyed the first season better. They should have waited until the 4th or 5th season for that. I agree too. I can't even find episodes on iOffer, and they have everything. robyrob 03-29-2006, 08:43 AM I agree too. I can't even find episodes on iOffer, and they have everything. i honestly dont understand why Paramount hasnt released this yet - they announced PLANS to release it at the same time they announced Happy Days, L&S and M&M  snl 70s show fan 04-04-2006, 12:29 AM I agree too. I can't even find episodes on iOffer, and they have everything.i just saw some eps on i offer when i was there a few minutes ago Moonlight Lady 08-26-2006, 10:23 PM I agree, I think they should have waited. It was funny to see them try and hide their real identies. If the show had a long enough run to have a series finale, that would have been the perfect time to reveal who they really were. Scoobiedoo30 02-03-2007, 06:18 PM I wonder how low The ratings were Chocolate Moose 02-03-2007, 07:32 PM maybe tom hanks wants major $$$ to release it. i remember i adored it! MikeLutton 02-05-2007, 08:40 PM yeah them being in drag was whole point of the show if they wanted reveal themselves least wait til last episode to do it after that no excitment left Skywalker 02-11-2007, 03:23 AM I think the producers knew this show wasn't going to last long and they just said "To hell with it" by revealing their identities at the beginning of the 2nd season. Either that or they did it in a quick attempt to boost low ratings. Scoobiedoo30 02-11-2007, 05:10 PM I do have to say that Bosom Buddies was a great show jaime_weinman 02-28-2007, 02:32 PM I think the second season, where they mostly dropped the drag bit, was better than the first. The guys were funnier out of dresses, acting like themselves. The biggest problem, I think, was that this was essentially a fairly sophisticated show with a lot of improvisation and wacky humor -- but because of the drag and the producers (Miller-Milkis-Boyett) it was sold as a show for a younger, less sophisticated audience. That meant it couldn't find the audience that the writers were really writing it for. TMC 03-01-2024, 01:40 AM I do have to say that Bosom Buddies was a great show It took an admittedly took a hacky concept (i.e. men in drag) and arguably saved it with clever writing, along with incredibly appealing performances by baby Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari. By the time it was over, they'd (for better or worse) pretty much abandoned the drag concept and it was more a sitcom about friends with Hanks and Scolari at the center. CJMD03 03-07-2024, 01:10 AM The drag arc was funny, but it just didn’t have lasting power. And then always being in men’s clothes in the second season made no sense because they didn’t seem to be concerned about getting caught. |
