A St. Patricks Day toast:

Saint Patrick was a gentleman,
Who through strategy and stealth,
Drove all the snakes from Ireland,
Here’s a toasting to his health.
But not too many toastings
Lest you lose yourself and then
Forget the good Saint Patrick
And see all those snakes again.

Your friendly neighborhood TJL has the day off today, so I'll be visiting my local pub this afternoon. Have fun, and don't overdo it. Leave that to the professionals.

;) :drink:

He brought Christianity to Ireland which was a Pagan country at that time.

Taking a brief respite from all the action, I'd thought I'd stop by to give you and update on the festivities in NYC.

My local place (www.thegafnyc.com) is packed with revelers. Lots of drinks are being consumed, and too many people are wearing those big stupid green Dr. Seuss hats.

That's about it.

Update:

Things are still jumping here in the Big Apple. The crowds of drunk people are still out in full force, slurring thier words and shouting alot, people are high fiving and saying the word "bro" every chance they get.

I'm hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel, but the light is just some beefy drunk guy from Jersey who likes to scream when Bon Jovi is played on the jukebox.

The horror... the horror...

Epilogue:

After 11 hours out amongst the masses, my body is spent, and my mind is weak. I have run through the gauntlet of crazies, drunkards, buttholes and posers, and I have come out of it feeling alive, yet dead.

Yeah, I don't know what that means either.

Thankfully, this only happens once a year.

Things will return to normal in a day or two: the shops and bars will rebuild, as they have always done. The time to heal is at hand.

As for me, I will continue to go about my business, a little stronger, a little smarter, sunrise, sunset, yadda yadda yadda...

What was I saying?

;)
