I'm not sure if anything has been posted about this before or not, but I thought it was worth mentioning in case anyone would like to check it out. ;) I've recently started watching The Nanny on Lifetime and the WB. One day, I noticed that one of the characters looked awfully familiar. Then I realized that Yetta (with the Coke bottle glasses!), who I think is Fran's grandmother, was Ann Guilbert. Don't ask me why it took so long to figure that out, but it finally hit me when they did a scene with one-liners from The Dick Van Dyke Show. The next scene showed a rather cheesy, but funny black and white scene with Maxwell as Rob, Fran as Laura, C.C. as Sally and Niles as Mel.
It's nice to see Ann in reruns of the show. The only other thing I had scene her in was Grumpier Old Men and of course The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited. Just thought I would mention this for anyone who didn't know she was on The Nanny. :)

Thanks for the info! How is the baby? Are you getting any sleep at night? ;)

He's doing great. I can't believe he's 5 months old already! Luckily, he started sleeping through the night when he was about 5 weeks old, so I've been able to catch up on my sleep. He loves to sleep just like his momma! :)

Carrie, you are so lucky! my baby didn't sleep through the night until he was 9 months old!
I just wanted to add to the thread that Ann also appeared in a couple episodes of Seinfeld, as a friend of Jerry Seinfeld's parents in Florida. She is great! It's worth checking out.

Here's a screen capture of Ann in The Nanny season 2 episode, Everybody Needs a Bubby Sometimes. 10 more images can be found here (http://www.tdvdsonline.net/modules/xcgal/thumbnails.php?album=50). Enjoy!

The ep that you mentioned here, w/ the DVD Show reenactment, was rerun on Nick-at-Nite this week. In an earlier scene, Yetta imagined that she was in the Petries' home. She first saw Brighton Sheffield and said "There's Ritchie!" and then looked in the mirror and said "There's Millie!". :)
The end of the show had a scene w/ C.C. Babcock as Sally, Maxwell Sheffield as Rob, Fran Fine as Laura, and Niles the butler as Mel (w/ glasses and bald wig!). It was pretty funny, w/ the cast members doing decent impersonations.

I wonder why Niles was Mel in the fantasy sequence and not Buddy?
