93. Once Upon a Time

Rudy reads her parents a story that she has written. (As she reads, Rudy and her friends and family are seen as the various characters.) It is about Happyland, a place where the people are always filled with joy and everyone sings about how happy they are. A terrible group in a far-off land decides to start trouble. They send a representative to declare war on Happyland. The peaceful residents have never heard the word "war," and think that they are going to have a party. The invaders conquer the land and force the citizens to submit to their every whim. Everyone is miserable. A flower girl confronts the invaders and orders them to stop. Cliff and Clair are confused by the end of the story. Rudy says that she will one day become president of the world and order everyone who is hurting others to stop. Her parents hear all of the depressing headlines on the news and wish that everything could be solved as easily as Rudy believes.
