View Full Version : Gambler's Anonymous meetings on Sitcomsonline
Janice Johnson 03-14-2006, 12:30 PM I have a gambling problem with Scratch Off Lotto Tickets....... I called a gambling anonymopus helpline and they told me the time of a Gambling Anonymous meeting. The time they told me was at night, at the time where I need to be home. So I was wondering, could we have a Gambling A on Sitcomsonline? Do you see why I was trying to sell blood twice in the same few days?:( And why I tried to sell my stereo door to door?:(
MsOrange 03-14-2006, 12:45 PM it's not very annonymous being on a public board and all...

Yes it is. No one knows who I am in real life......
dawsongirl 03-14-2006, 03:54 PM Why do you need one here if you're going to go to a local meeting? Besides, if there aren't really any gambling addicts here, it won't help much.
Chad Michael Murray 03-14-2006, 05:09 PM Okay, um...
I'm not trying to be rude here at all. In fact, I'm trying to sound urgent.
If the reason you're selling your own property (and your BLOOD for that matter) is all because you've been using the money to gamble...GET HELP NOW!
I'm not trying to sound rude, sarcastic, or anything like that. I legitimately mean what I said. I mean...wanting to sell your blood, of all things, this is basically the kind of stuff a crack addict will do to get their next 'fix'.
Seek help, immediately. You need a lot more than this message board right now, I can tell you that much.
Stormtracker TF 03-14-2006, 05:18 PM You sold your own BLOOD for money to gamble?! I'm with CMM, you need to get serious help right now...
Brieannas21 03-14-2006, 05:31 PM Is this a serious post?
Ireneparalegal 03-14-2006, 05:33 PM WTF!!!???? Are you serious? I think there is a bigger problem than gambling...you seem to post some crazy stuff and it makes me wonder...
gilligan fanatic 03-14-2006, 05:36 PM hmm, why don't you just not go near any convenience stores.
Chad Michael Murray 03-14-2006, 05:49 PM hmm, why don't you just not go near any convenience stores.
That's like telling a crack addict to stay away from that clear plastic bag that has what looks like flour in it.
Hollow 03-14-2006, 06:10 PM yeah, this looks like a mere excuse for those asinine threads.
hmm, why don't you just not go near any convenience stores.
ignorance.

I am just saying its not that hard not to go near them. They should take up a hobby.

If it was that easy there wouldnt be so many people with gambling problems. Thats why things like Gambler's Annonymous exist.

No kidding. Ask an alcoholic how easy it is to just stay away from booze.

I don't think Sitcoms Online is the appropriate place for a support group. I do hope that you get the help you need, though. :)
Mr. Television 03-14-2006, 08:22 PM I'm taking this as a serious post so I'll just say please go and get some help. SO isn't the right place for it though.
theshark8777 03-14-2006, 10:07 PM Wouldn't there have to be more than one person with the gambling problem?
dawsongirl 03-15-2006, 01:57 AM Wouldn't there have to be more than one person with the gambling problem?
Totally. We can't really help if we don't understand what it's like to be addicted to gambling.
Mr. Television 03-15-2006, 02:26 AM I only know what its like to be addicted to SO.

Oh, I know how that is. Just when I think my addiction is going away something makes it come back all over again.
As of yet it hasnt actually caused me to sell any blood to pay for internet costs, though.

Gambling can turn into a real problem for some people. I hope that you are able to get some help before the situation gets even more out of control. And considering that you were trying to sell your blood, I think that it is already pretty much out of control. Please go and get some help.

because it's just so easy to stop trying to get money when you're thousands of dollars in debt.
Jonathan 03-15-2006, 10:52 PM Um, alright then.
Georgia's on my Mind 03-15-2006, 11:53 PM It amazes me how the people who waste their money on gambling are usually the ones who can least afford it.

That's how the rich stay rich.
BartSmith 03-24-2006, 03:30 PM It's not all Janice Johnson's fault that she keeps gambling. I went into a couple of convienince stores and I went into a Western Union that has a "LOTTO" section, and these stores post HIGH payout tickets for a little bit of money. It's very tempting.
The tickets that were posted were
A winning five dollar game called Royal 7's, and the winning ticket had a "CROWN" symbol, which meant 100.00 payout.
Another Royal 7's posted had a 15.00 payout, which means 10.00 profit.
A winning, "Set For LIFE" ticket posted (10.00) had a "Dollar" symbol, which means 200.00 payout.
A winning "Lucky Cash" ticket posted had a "Moneybag", which means, "Win all" and it meant a 50.00 payout for a 2.00 ticket, because each number had "5.00 next to it, and there were 10 numbers..
Winning "Gold Rush" and "Lucky For LIFE" tickets posted(20.00 each) each had a $500.00 payout posted.
All of these tickets posted are VERY tempting, and I see why people would want to gamble after seeing these winning tickets.
Janice Johnson 03-31-2006, 01:15 PM It's because I don't know when to keep the money I win. There is this game called, "Payday Bonus", and a lot of times, the prize is $5.00. The price of the game is 1.00. The sad thing is, if I had strategized correctly, I could have won 5.00 dollars a day, and kept that 5.00 that I won, and by the end of the week, I would have had 25.00 won dollars. By the end of the month, I could have had 100.00. But no, I have a lot of trouble keeping money I win, and gamble it back into Lotto. I have won 25.00 from a single game, but that shot is 1 in 300. The ticket rolls in the convinience stores each have 300 tickets, so if I had hit five different convienince stores and had won 25.00 at those 5 stores, I could have had 125.00 per week, and if I had done that a month, I could have had 500.00 a month!:(

From reading your posts, you seem to use the most complicated ways in order to make money. Why just not apply for a job; anything as simple as mowing the lawn is a start.
EmoJoe 03-31-2006, 04:31 PM yeah, you need serious help...
Georgia's on my Mind 03-31-2006, 11:19 PM As clever as you think you are, the industry is one step ahead.
