View Full Version : Scenes that were cut from the UPN syndication
88survivor 03-13-2006, 04:53 PM Notice how scenes that were cut or some dialogue changes that didn't match the syndication at all...
Instead of Lila saying "Or I just continue having a tiny crush on him" which saw in the syndication.....it "Or I just continue having a tiny crush on you" referring to Charles, not her boyfriend in the pilot episode. There was also a longer scene that when Lila shuts the door on her dad, it cuts to commercial, however in the DVD there is a longer version as to what happen......

that happens alot in syndications when shows are cut to fit in more commercial ad time, not just for CIC but other shows like Friends, Full House, etc.
88survivor 05-20-2006, 05:35 PM It's great to have CIC on DVD, though...:)

I agree! It's great having the un-cut episodes! I used to watch that show when it was in syndication on TBS back in the 90s, I never realized how much of it I was missing until I got the DVD.
88survivor 05-21-2006, 12:25 AM :) Yeah, isn't cool or what?
:) Yeah, isn't cool or what?
Yes, it's very cool!
Yes, the scene where Lila shuts the door on her father was too funny! Until I got the DVD, I wondered where the scene was in the show where Stan was shaking Jason in the credits. The same with the final Pembroke episode, where Jason & Charles were shaving.
88survivor 05-21-2006, 11:52 PM I loved the shaving scene with Jason and Charles. Scott Baio seemed to got along with Michael Pearlman really well. I wondered if Scott Baio felt he was like a little big brother to Michael Pearlman. If you look closely, I guess it seemed very different from the Powells. The feelings he had was mutual with the three children, Mrs. Powell, and the grandfather. But Scott and Michael seemed to have a brotherly bond...you could tell how much Scott almost cracks at Pearlman's jokes a bit.
I agree, the scenes with Charles & Jason were the best. :)
88survivor 05-22-2006, 03:50 PM I wonder what the 2nd Season episodes would be like, though...
aalady 05-22-2006, 04:08 PM Your right I think those two really did seem to like each other.

I'm sure it would have still been good! As the kids got older, they could have had some pretty interesting story lines I think.
88survivor 05-23-2006, 12:22 AM At the end of the first season, Scott seemed happy, but almost sad....either that or maybe he is happy. That's a very beautiful scene with them hugging, but Scott's eyes tell me something that seemed something more. Cannot tell from the eyes since they were glazed over, but it seem like at that moment he knew that Michael would be replaced or possibly some hope the show would get picked up next season. It almost felt like he is going missed his only friend in the world, so to speak. Instead, it brought syndication...I could wrong, though.
