Has anyone by chance heard the new version of "I'm A Believer" by the group Smash Mouth? I believe that it is simply AWFUL!!!! I think it's the worst cover record of a 50s/60s oldie since Guns N Roses totally destroyed "Since I Don't Have You" by the Skyliners. This so-called group has taken what is supposed to be an innocent love ballad and turned it into a loud punk/grunge anthem. I doubt that this is what the Monkees had in mind when they first sang it, or what Neil Diamond (whose own songs pale by comparison) thought when he wrote it. What do you think??

Hmm. I'll have to hear this. If it's as bad as you say (which it probably is), I'll cry.

Love ya, see ya here on the feud!
JOHNNY: You know, it must be expensive to have a baby nowadays.
ROY: It's expensive to have a hotdog nowadays.
NEWKIRK: No problem with that, sir. You just let me have one of our guns, and I'll put a nice little hole in between his eyes. It may not stop him, but it'll slow him down a bit.
CARTER: Piece of pie!
NEWKIRK: Cake, Andrew, cake.
LUCY: Oh, well, I thought you would want to play up the domestic angle. You know, how happily married Ricky is.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Well, we would ordinarily, you see, but Don Juan is all about love. It's got nothing to do with marriage.
LUCY: Yeah, he's pushing twenty-three, all right. In fact, he's pushed it all the way to thirty-five.
DAVY: Peter, as my devoted houseboy, what will be your main function?
PETER: I am born to serve my master and live only to perform his bidding!
DAVY: Right. Now get me my comb.
PETER: Get it yourself!
OSCAR: You want brown juice or green juice?
FELIX: What's the difference?
OSCAR: Three weeks.

I've heard two versions of "I'm a believer" by Smash Mouth. The CD version is awful, while the radio version is pretty good. I wish I could find the radio version somewhere!

All I have to say about the new version of I'm a Believer is-
If something is done right the first time, why do it over again?

Yea, I agree. Although the Smash Mouth version doesn't seem all that bad to me, the Monkees did it just right the first time. But ya know, too many things are being redone these days
