I confused The Police and Genesis. I constantly had to remind myself, "Police"=Sting. "Genesis"=Phil Collins. I once picked up a Police album and was looking for a Genesis song and was wondering why it didn't show upon the album.

I got Kim Wilde and Debbie mixed up. I saw a tracklisting of DG's Greatest Hits, and I wondered, "Where is "Kids In America?" Kim is why I got into Debbie, because I thought Debbie had sung, "Kids In America".

I got B52's and Go-Go's confused. I thought that the Go-Go;s had sung Roam, and I looked up "Roam lyrics by the Go-Go's" and I didn't get a good result. Then I put in a lyric from "Roam" and got "Roam" by B52's. I always thought that Vacation and Roam were "married" together, (meaning similar songs from the same artists) I always kind of thought that Vacation and Roam went together well.

What can be confusing for me are songs that are made famous by more than one artist. You cannot always tell who is singing it when you are listening to the famous song on the radio. It can also be confusing as to who you should really associate the song with.

Examples:

1. As I said on another thread, "Sixteen Tons" by Merle Travis and then by Tennessee Ernie Ford.

2. "How Do I Live?" was made famous by both LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood.

I couldn't tell Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton apart when they first came out.
