Hi!

I noticed from scanning this board that at least one member has met Peter Tork. I thought it would be fun to start a discussion of other Monkees encounters.

I met Micky Dolenz at a book-signing in the mid 1990's. He signed that book he wrote with Mark Bego, and I'm having a brain freeze and can't remember the title at this moment. Also signed a Monkees program I brought from their tour with Weird Al Yankovick. As he handed back my stuff, he said, "There you go, darlin'."

I'm sure there are many of you out there who can top my story in terms of interest. :-)

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for how to meet the Monkees? I wouldn't mind meeting Peter some day.

I met Micky at my first Monkee concert, we happened to notice him walking through the hotel and followed him. He signed autographs for us and took a picture with me. ( http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif He called me darlin' too. When I got home from the concert, my best freind bought me a necklace that says "darling" in honor of Micky) At my second concert I met Davy. He was sitting in a bar in the middle of the casino at the MGM Grand at 2:30 am. We got pictures and autographs with him too. I met Peter at my third concert, but this concert was a Shoe Suede Blues concert (Peter's other band). SSB concerts seem to be the best place to meet Peter. He sits down for an intermission with the rest of the band for all fans to have pics and autographs. Good luck!

And here I thought I was Micky's only darlin'! Oh, well.

I just missed Shoe Suede Blues at a place called the State Theatre which isn't too far from my house. Hopefully, they'll come back. I'll have to keep a closer eye on it.

Thew lady has folks music concerts in her living room & Tork was one of ther show she put on. Nez was nice. Sadly one of his roadies shoved him in his limo while he was in the middle of meeting folks. He ahfd topolitely say goodbye & I could tell he wanted to stay longer. I hated how his roadies did him. It was fun tho & he was a nice guy!
