Pitching is very strong with a couple of call-ups from Pawtucket.

Curt Schilling's injury looks like it's behind him, and he should lead a great pitching staff.

As far as hitting goes, the Sox won't score as many runs as they did the last few years, but if third baseball Mike Lowell has a better year than last year, he should help offense.

Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz should produce their normal good numbers.

Defense is stronger this year than last year, with some new infield players.

Outfield is a little better than average.

GM Theo Epstein can always pull off a great deal for David Wells. He's a good bargaining chip, even at age 42.

Overall, it's going to be an exciting season with the newcomers.

My husband just dictated that post to me, lol. I asked him how the Yankees look this year, and he said, "They always look great, but don't put that in the post." :lol:

The Yankees offense looks like it will be great! Johnny Damon leading off will set the table for our sluggers like A-Rod and Sheffield. Derek Jeter is Derek Jeter and I expect Hideki Matsui to have a big year.

The pitching is what concerns me. Can Shawn Chacon, Aaron Small and Chein Ming Wang continue what they did for us last season? Randy Johnson got shelled in his last spring training start. I am concerned that age is starting to catch up with him.

The Padres look better this year than they did last year. Getting Mike Cameron was really big. I also liked that they got Mike Piazza. The offense will be better this year than last year and the defense (especially the outfield) is vastly improved.

I really can't wait for Josh Barfield to play. I'm thinking he'll be getting the second base job at the rate he's hitting in spring training.

The pitching is the only concern but Woody Williams had an off-year last season. At least we got Chris Young, Adrian Gonzalez, and Termel Sledge in that blockbuster deal with Texas last December. I'm thinking Walter Young will be Ryan Klesko's backup, however. I'm surprised te Orioles let him go. He has the potential to be a big hitter, no pun intended (he's about 322 pounds).

i agree with your husband, schilling was excellent the first game, foulke however....:eek: our pitching is very strong this year and so is our outfield so this year. im excited to see whats gonna happen and also i really miss arroyo:(

Well the Indians took 2 out of 3 from the world champions, which was something we could not do this year. If the young hitters come together and the pitching holds up, maybe we can make the playoffs and not choke like we did last year.

Hopefully the Twins will be better than the mediocre team they were last year. Their pitching is more than capable of getting them far into the playoffs. It's their hitting that needs improvement. They were dead last in the AL in runs last year. If Torii Hunter can stay healthy all year, and the younger players in their lineup show improvement, I think they can make the AL Central race a little closer than it was last year.
