Homeriffic, I agree. It is a tie amongst those three, although I would add NYPD Blue to the mix, although it is not a sitcom like the subject line suggests.

Irene, by the subject line, "NYC" to me translates to New York City. "NYS" would translate to New York State. All of the shows I know that took place in the Empire State took place in New York City except for "Jesse."

Just my two cents!

Have to agree with you on this one. Frans voice was always like nails on a chalkboard. That's why I hate the show so much

Yes, her voice is one of the main reasons I don't like that show.

Facts of Life took place in New York State, not city.
They were in Peekskill, New York.

yes, I liked them too. But you have to admit that whole "getting together-breaking up, getting together, breaking up...was unrealistic especially when it happen for like the 900th time.

Wow, I didn't know Caroline in the City was so hated, 5 different posters in this thread listed it as one of their least favorite NYC sitcoms. While not near the level of classic New York sitcoms like I Love Lucy, Barney Miller, Seinfeld, Diff'rent Strokes, and Mad About You, it could still have good moments. And Caroline in the City gets props from me for being one of the few shows with a regular cat. :cat:

Same here. Loved the early seasons, even liked the later seasons a lot. For me, the first four seasons are just so classic 1990s; there's something very special about them. And they were one of the few shows where everyone stayed on, year after year: no abrupt departures. I love that.

I was surprised by the Friends hate, but I guess it's a show you either love or don't love.

Friends. Here was a show taking place in one of the most diverse cities in all of NYC, and it was the least diverse. I didn't even really care about having an all-white cast (I love Seinfeld). It was just that for atmosphere, casting didn't even bother having a few minorities passing back and forth in the background to make it more like NYC.
