How much ice do you like in your cold drinks?

I can see some differences in countries over the ice situation.

U.S. fastfood and restaurants often like to add a lot of ice into the cups/glasses, even if you don't want ice. So you would have to request "no ice." My mom always does this because the ice tickles her throat and she coughs for a long time. The nordic European countries (especially when I noticed it in Sweden) doesn't give ice unless it is upon request.

As for me, I don't like a lot of ice in my drinks. Too much ice means less of the soft drink, and it makes the drink watery. I often find myself telling fastfood/restaurant places to give me "easy ice."

So, how do you prefer your drinks are served?

i dont really care about how much ice i have but you are right about the "more ice, less drink" part. ive noticed they do that at Cedar Point all the time so you get less for your money. it kinda sucks...

I don't use ice in my beverages at home. In restaurants, I request light on the ice.

At home....usually a little crushed ice. In restaurants: none (if I can help it - otherwise as little as possible) The soda that comes out of the machines is already refridgerated, and by end of drink I'd rather drink slighly warm soda as opposed to watered down soda.

A fair amount of ice. I like drinks cold, and I usually drink fast enough that watering down isn't much of a concern.

I don't even use ice at home. At restaurants, I hate it when they put tons of ice in, because they're just trying to stiff you on the pop/tea/etc. Even with free refills.

Lots and lots of ice. It's not just because I love cold drinks, but because I loooove to eat ice. When I go to the movie theater, I usually go up to the food stand and get two cups of ice to chew on during the movie.

I use 4 or 5 cubes, enough to keep it cold.

One or two cubes. I HATE when I get too much ice in a soft drink. That's why I usually order water. That way it doesn't matter. :D

It depends on how hot it is! During the Summer months, I usually want loads of ice in my drink, but no so much during the cooler months of the year. :)

Hm, when I'm at home, I tend to prefer a lot of ice in my drinks, yet at restaurants or fast food places, I want it easy on the ice. That's because I want to get the most for my money  Yes, I am cheap sometimes. I just don't want to get a drink that is mostly ice and about a quarter soda.
