I read the book and today I saw the play...amazing. It seriously is a life changer. If you have the opportunity to see it, you really should...no matter what sex you are.

I've read about it and heard about it, and it looks interesting. I haven't seen it before, but it would be interesting to check out.

dlemond 03-09-2006, 11:59 AM Got me thinking of the bit on SNL:
Charlton Heston: Uh.. I'm having a problem with the word at the top of the page.
Sound Operator: Which one?
Charlton Heston: The "P" word. Couldn't I just say "vagina"?
Al Goldstein: Heston, you sound like an old whore. Read it the way Madonna wrote it! Show some respect!
Charlton Heston: I'm sorry.. I'm just uncomfortable with it. I understand what you're saying. You want something young and hip - I could say something like.. furburger?

No I havent seen the Vagina Monologues, but I've read quite a bit about it. I hear its a hit or miss; you love it or hate it.
I think for the most part, the audience last night loved it. It's very interactive and it's personal too...everyone's laughing and talking to their friends about it...But I do think the girls enjoyed it more than the guys. Especially since during some of them, the guys had no clue what was being talked about.
But yeah..it's about "rediscovering" the vagina and celebrating it. And the proceeds I think go toward shelters for abused women. And there's a couple of monologues in there that deal with sexual abuse and they just make you go "woah" because of the stats.

I have seen a version of it on cable. It was hilarious. I mean, all the references made to that part of the body alone, is so funny.
