What is your all time favorite episode of "Mama's Family" and why?

Don't know the name, but the episode where Thelma's mother is ghost and comes back to haunt her. That scene at the end where Vint thinks Thelma is yelling at him makes it the best of them all!

Another one right up there with it is, the one where Thelma becomes a stand-up Comedian for the Bigger Jigger and comes up with lot, and lots of Put-Downs to her family as her material.

I love the episode where Mama and Iola run against each other for the top spot in the church ladies league. Iola is one of my favorite characters. I think the "handicrafts" she makes are hilarious and I have this sort of admiration/pity feeling toward her for willing to be so dedicated to her parents. Mama is a good balance to her. Another favorite episode is the Crystal Thorn award one, where Iola's Dainty Bess rose is "taken advantage of" by Mama's Herbert Hoover (I think that's the right name). Some of the exchanges at that rose bushes are side-splitting!

I like the "I Do, I Don't" episode because Mama is hilarious when she demands her popcorn with extra butter.

But the one where Mama tries to get a job was great. The stuck up lady asked Mama "Do you know how to use a phone" & Mama says "No usually I just run around & yell What do I do What do I do!

Very funny!

My favorite episode of "Mama's Family" would have to be the one where Vint and Namoi buy this baby moniter and Bubba, Vint, and Namoi listen on Mama and Iola's conversion in the kitchen. And they find out what Mama really thinks about them. And the mean time while Bubba, Vint, and Namoi are outside on the porch. Mama overhears them also. Everyone is ferious at one another.

My favorite is when Eunice messes up Vint and Naomi's wedding with her anger and then she and Naomi almose get into a fight. After Ed carries her away kicking and screaming,Aunt Effie has the nerve to yell out: "Is this the line for the food?" I have the original NBC recording of this 2 parter and the syndicated verision. It's really cool.

I LIKE THE THANKSGIVING EPISODE ABOUT THE TORNADO WHERE THEY ARE ALL TRAPPED IN THE BASEMENT! I LIKE ALL THE HOLIDAY EPISODES TOO. AND THE ONE WHERE MAMA IS JEALOUS OF IOLA'S NEW "BEST FRIEND" ARLENE.

Hands down, it's the Family Feud episode!!!

my favorite is when Iola freeze-dries her dead cat Midnight. Honorable mentions are the one where Mama intrudes on Vint & Naomi's honeymoon & the one where Mama is knocked out in the kitchen & Naomi, Eunice & Ellen all have different versions of what happened.

Id have to say my favorite episodes were Gift Horse, and Rashomama. I love the whole situation with EUNICE and ellen and naomi telling their own stories... Iv seen this episode over 30 times, and every single time, i cant help but laugh when Mama gets hit over the head with the pot!

I LOVE THE EPISODE WHERE MAMA RUNS FOR MAYOR OF RAYTOWN.
I THINK IT WAS A TWO PARTER.

My favorite episodes off the top of my head are - the where Vint brings the Fortune Teller home and Mama becomes Esmerelda, Queen of the Gypsies to expose the fortune teller as a hoax.
I also like the one where Mama thinks they are going to put her in a home as Naomi names a stray dog, "Ol' Lady."

My favorite episode of this funny as hell show is the "Grandma USA" episode.
I like that part where the guy asks Thelma how old she is and she tells him that "It's none of your damn business!"
I liked her reaction when that prettier grandma won the pageant and she was raving and ranting to the camera.
Thelma should have won. She is so incredible in this show

my all time fav is when mama and all the girls get together to make jelly and she gets a whollup on the head and yells that memorable WELL WHAT THE!? each gal remembers it differently convincing themselves absolved of guilt and trying to gain favor with Vint. all these shows are so great the christmas goose pardoned though vicky l wasn't as visible in the jelly episode, gosh that one look was great.

My favorite episode is when Mama was at this motel, where Naomi and Vint were spending thier honeymoon, and was watching a slutty movie which caused her to become disgusted.

okay, overall it's not the funniest epsidoe but i love the moment late in the series when thelma is in love with professor hanson!! she gets all hussied up and tried to impress him!! she crosses her leg over the chair and her purse is swinging from it!! oh god i crack up!! then she tries to grab the purse and falls over her chair!! and then later in that same scene she grabs her breast and says "why everything baout me is real" I laugh so hard i get sick and cry every single time i see honest!!

My favorite episode was when Iola freeze dried her cat. That was hilarious. I love this show!

I like the ballroom dancing episode when Mama does "Dirty Dancing" . And the Christmas episode when she plays Santa at the Galaraya Mall.

I like the one where she becomes addicated to the home shopping channel and when she goes on Jeporady

I like the one where Mama gets her driver's licese and she has to have her picture taken over again!! LOL!

My next favorite is when Bubba make the hoem video for a school project and the camera shuts on and off on its own giving different interpretations of the Family's interviews:

Naomi's:

That was one of the funniest quotes.

I have a few favorites...well, the ones that stick out in my mind the most, that is.

The Family Feud episode is hands down one of the best...as is the one where Thelma tries to impress the teacher. Right up there with the Bigger Jigger comedy competition.

But one of my favs not mentioned was the answering machine one where they're trying to figure out what to make the message and Naomi sounds all deep and sexy, Vint tries to do a funny sounding one, and Bubba tries to impersonate Elvis...and in the end Thelma says "awww hell" and makes it simple with a "It's your dime, spill it."

Course, Iola freeze-drying her cat is priceless too. Especially when my roommate is talking about doing the same thing to her dog when he dies. LOL

Thomas, I love that episode too...all 4 of the interviews are hilarious. Iola sounded like she was saying that Mama's kids hadn't been washed in weeks (she was really talking about dolls). Vint saying "Everytime Daddy went out of town....Mama fell off the wagon....she was always having men in" (He was talking about a broken water heater). the Naiomi one was the funniest though.

My other favorite episode is the April Fools Day one. From the sponge cake to the golden troll award, that one was a riot.

I loved the Aprile Fools Episodes as well.

I'm not sure if this is the same one or not, but I think it is. The one when Mama gets a job at the Raytown Travel Agency. She answers the phone, "Raytown Travel Agency, how may I HELP you?!!" Then, this old man and his wife come in wanting to go on a cruise to the Bahamas and she says to him, "Oh yeah, you just can't wait to get down there and see all them nekkid women!"

My favorite is the one where they go on Family Feud, LOL. That was really good. :)

Omg, I love that episode! It's soo funny! It was on just the other day too. I like the part when Vint's talking & the part when Mama is talking is also good. Some more of my favorites are the one w/ the rocker girls, Vint & Naomi's & Mama in the hotel, the one where all the people stayed at their house, all the Christmas episodes, THanksgiving episode, & the one when Aunt Effie stayed w/ them & she stabbed Iola!!! There's a lot more I like, but I'll have to think of them...ttyl :wave:

I LOVE THE HAWAII EPISODES, THE RAYTOWN SHOPPING NETWORK EPIDSODE, THE EPISODE WHEN VINT AND NAOMI DECIDE TO LIVE IN THERE CAMPER AND IT IS PARKED RIGHT OUTSIDE IN THE BACK, I LIKED THE EPISODE WHERE VINT AND NAOMI AREN'T TALKING TO EACH OTHER AND THEY GET MAMA TO TRANSLATE AND DO EVERYTHING BETWEEN THEM! :lol:

My favorite episode is the one where Vint sells Mama's silver to bail his buddy Claude out of jail......LMAO Another one was when Vint had to marry that Portugues women, so she can get into the U.S. and have a nice life.....LMAO And then the one where Mama gets a job at a travel agency and insults the hell out those two old geezers....LMAOOOO
