http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/confused.gif I am having the biggest argument right now, with my fiance, who insists that because the Simpsons show and the game Tribes pronounce the "a" like in "apple". Now I know he is wrong because i used to watch reruns of the show and they pronounced the "a" like the "o" so it almost could have been spelled "shozbot", but he won't listen to me, so would someone who is a really big fan of the show and "knows what they are talking about" as he puts it please tell me which is correct! I would really appreciate it!

It was absolutely pronounced as follows:
"shoz-bot"
I'm willing to bet money on this. I haven't seen the show in years but that was engraved in my mind.
Hope this helps
Keith has it right.
Pronounce it SHOZ-BOT
Yeah, me too, K. It's burned into my memory as well.

Well, you're all right, no matter what any official documentation from the studio might say. I have been archiving the show for months and the pronunciation is a hair or two different each time.
I've heard all of them. Maybe it's kind of like dude.
Dude.
Duuuuuuude!
DEWD!

I think I can explain the problem. Robin Williams is from south-east Michigan, two towns away from where I grew up actually.
We Michanders have this annoying thing in our accents where our Os come out like As. My friend always says that when I get mad at my mother I don't go MOM! I go MAAAM! So, he was probably saying an O and it sounds like an A. That's just the annoying thing our flat midwestern accents do!

As a Hoosier, I got no idea what y'all mean by an "accent"
