Good point. I guess James wasn't use to getting alot of money like that at one time, so he was thinking more with his heart than with his head-lol

He was!!! Just like when the Evans paid all their bills that month and had $35 left over. Then!!!! they want to throw it away on singing lessons???? Give me a friggin break. My God. That money should have been saved for a rainy day. Knowing all the crap they went thru all the time, money was needed, so they should have just saved it. I hated that abt the black Jesus episode and the Gertie episode.

Those sneakers did look like 1.99 skips!!! If they were you KNOW he got his butt kicked!! When I grew up in NY during the 60's and 70's if your sneakers were'nt pro keds or converse your butt got kicked before school dring school and after school! Believe me, I had my butt kicked on many a day! The kids even made a song sung to dionne warick's "Walk on by" enjoy:

This is not uncommon. My family didn't have much money growing up and we were always behind on bills. My mom was in the running for a $100 prize at work one time and she said if she would win it, we'd all go out to dinner. Even in Jr. high, my thought was, "Let's put that towards a bill."

It wouldn't be such an issue if this family weren't always behind, weren't always complaining, trying to get ahead, struggling, etc. But why complain complain complain and then blame your son and remind your son abt how the money went to his cavities, etc. That is sooo wrong. A parent being parent must accept all responsibilities of their children when they are under their wing. James was irresponsible at times, there were opportunities and they were blown.

I once had 7 cavities at once. I was never told anything by my dad. He never reminded me either abt that. I had always brushed my teeth. The dentist says stuff like this can happen to anyone, even one who brushes their teeth daily. Especially if they eat sweets and don't brush their teeth for hours. Sugar starts working it's way the minute it's in your mouth.

I guess what I am saying is, it was funny (for the audience) to be reminded of JJ's 12 cavities, that was the show, to make fun of issues. but i am sorry, to remind your children of their wrongdoing, errors, innocent mistakes or just normal everyday stuff that had a negative impact on you or your family, is not the way it should be. Once something is in the past, leave it there and move on; learn from the mistake. Exactly, if you don't have it, don't spend it. My ex girlfriend's family did that once. He was fired from his job and got a severance package and he spent the entire amount on a trip to Disney World. That was really foolish.
