This case was on a week or so ago. It was about a guy in Houma, LA who all of a sudden disappeared. He used to have a drinking problem and the cops theorize that he fell off the wagon and went on a heck of a bender, from which he never returned. But yet, a crazy cajun kid with an afro says he saw him outside a C store disheveled and talking on a pay phone. Also, a lady says he came up to her porch selling frozen fish and reeking of booze. What do you think happened to AJ?

:lol: This segment has always stuck with me as I lived in Houma for several months back in the mid 90's so some of the footage was very familiar. As far as what happened I tend to believe he was abducted. Someone at the park (where AJ's car was found) saw a man being forced into a car. Than the two men that both knew AJ claimed he was in a car with some men. Maybe he witnessed something he shouldn't have. But on the other hand if they wanted to silence him why would they have him drive around with them. It would have been nice if they could have traced the call that was placed at that phone booth on the chance it was AJ and see who he was calling. Very baffling case.

Yeah, you would be hard pressed to see some of these cases like this go unsolved these days. With advances in phone technology ANY call can be traced (and might even be recorded). Think of all the UM cases that if only we knew WHERE the call was coming from (Judy Hymes, Don/Shaun, etc.) how easily it could be solved ... solved, or at least cleared up a bit.

Also, I believe I remember someone sent a letter to the cops saying that AJ had gotten drunk and was placed in a bag, then thrown into the river. The cops thought it was just someone "being mean" and playing a hoax ... but I could see that as a scenario. I have read where hard core alcoholics, if and when they do hit the bottle again, they go all out and strange, strange stuff ensues. It all depends on what crowd he may have happened to meet up with that night.

Great case, one of my favs. The crazy cajun guy with the Afro was one of AJ's friends. Another classic quote from him "Had I known AJ was missing he would have been found, because I knew who he was........" I beleive foul play was involved in this case. I do not think he fell off the wagon. It may have been a crazy conspiricy where he was abducted and forced to become a door to door frozen fish salesman. Any thoughts.

He may have started drinking again and been completely overwhelmed with shame.

Or he might have started drinking again after he was jumped/kidnapped.

I keep thinking about the case of the Canadian man who intentionally went missing in order to shield his loving family from the fact that he was a wanted man (it turned out that the charges he had been fleeing from for years had been dropped).

It is so hard to imagine what someone would do to protect their family from their misdeeds.
