The Tom Roach thread got me thinking....two weeks ago Lifetime showed the Nyleen Kay Marshall segment and showed a copy of the letter. I tried reading the other parts then the part Robert Stack read, but could not.

Does anyone have this on tape and maybe can read parts of it. They almost showed the entire page of one letter.

Actually someone posted the parts that were readable of the letter not too long ago. If you look at the thread titled "Finding Kay" I think on the 2nd page of the thread dynoguy posted the letter. Be warned though one part of it is quite disturbing.

I see what you mean, because I just read that part myself. I don't blame UM for not reading that part of the letter.

When there's a letter involved in a case, it is very understandable that some excerpts are not released to the public.

Click on the link below to the old thread where I typed out the parts of the letter that were shown. Just be sure to scroll to the bottom.

I believe the full letter from the kidnapper was 3 pages long. The Unsolved Mysteries segment showed pages 1 and 3 of the letter but not page 2.

I tend to agree with Awsi Dodger's theory in the referenced thread. The letter is sick, but doesn't go into any REAL specifics, only vague references to perversions (talking about how she teases him? I mean come on, this is a child!) ... in my opinion, this letter was just some pervert's way of getting satisfaction. It sounds like a sick piece of fan fiction to me.

I always thought she was lost in the woods and died of exposure. I find it hard to believe that it was a crime of opportunity by some evil person just lurking in the woods at that moment, hoping a little girl would happen to come by. That just doesn't seem likely.

I just watched the NBC version of this segment. I was checking to see if Lifetime had edited any of it. I did notice something at the end I don't remember ever hearing on the Lifetime version. RS said in the letter it also mentioned that the letter writer's mother, father and sister were all killed in a car crash. He said his sister was 9 when she died. Another clue if you believe the letter writer did abduct Nyleen and I'm sure the police checked it out.

I understand that Lifetime needs to edit the segments for various reasons but this just seems like a very poor editorial decision in particular as this is information that could have led to the author of the letter.

Yeah these Lifetime cuts really annoy me sometimes, Last night I was watching the Philip Fraser segment and I noticed at one point that the background music just abruptly stopped when they switched to another scene, just makes me wonder what they edited out.

I totally agree. Someone watching the segment that heard that type of clue may have remembered someone whose family had been killed in that fashion and called authorities. Its particularly aggravating when they edit some of these segments that didn't even have an update to make room for.

On the contrary I think. There were several families having a picnic in the woods. The kids were playing close by but seemingly out of reach of the rest of the group. That is the perfect opportunity for an abductor

Agree. He may have come for other reasons, but as a predator saw his perfect chance to snatch a child. Perhaps he was driving through and saw the families getting ready for picnics. Perhaps he was a local who knew the woods. I think this was definitely not a child lost in the woods type of deal here.

That's quite possible. While some are more confident in large groups like that, I am less confident. It may be natural to assume that everyone is looking out for everyone else, but not everyone knows everyone so it could be the perfect opportunity for a child predator.

I dont buy into the abductor theory at all....a remote area, is just too difficult to carry a child away.... and the idiots calling in and writing in are two losers looking for attention. For me, she was killed and carried away by a mountain lion.
That area was prime puma territory and they can strike so fast its almost unbelievable. A friend of mine was biking in the West, bent down to fix a tire and was killed by a mountain lion who jumped up behind and bit his neck and killed him with one bite. I truly believe that is what happened to Nyleen. That whole ridiculous jizz story and world travel is pure bull****

I read online that they considered Nyleen's father was a suspect at one point. Is that true? What about the jogger that she was scene talking too at the picnic? And I always thought the letter was just some sicko messing with the family.

It is possible, Susie Jaeger was taken while camping in a tent in Montana.
"Among Meirhofer's victims was seven-year-old Susan Jaeger, who was taken from her tent at night during a family camping trip."

The guy who took Susan called the victim's mother a year later "Meirhofer placed a telephone call to Marietta Jaeger, the mother of Susan Jaeger, exactly a year after the kidnapping, and she obtained enough information to help the FBI track him down."

I just watched this case on FBI files last week! I cannot believe that another little girl slept in the same tent and heard nothing. Not that I'm blaming her or anything or saying she could of stopped it!!! She was just a child. But that a person cut the tent open and removed a little girl without disturbing the other girl is unbelievable. Also at the end of the program they made reference to another case were a boy had been beaten and stabbed to death in a tent next to another boy who didn't wake up!

Im sorry to go off topic but can you imagine the guilt those children will feel once there old enough to understand exactly what had happened. It's totally not there fault in any way but it must be always in their minds.

It does seem unlikely, yet when you have kids who have been out in nature all day, running around, riding bikes and all the things I remember doing when we went camping, they sleep pretty soundly! Totally horrible for the siblings in these cases, I'm sure.

I totally understand. I went camping last year with twin 8 year old lads and a 7 month old baby and when he woke up screaming and hollering at the crack of dawn the twins were still fast asleep!

When some one is killed its not just awful for them its the scars that it leaves behind on the family. The 'what ifs'

Exactly. I never thought that the letter had any credibility. It seemed too easy. It was as if the abductor was setting himself up to be caught.

Anyone has screenshots of the letters that were ripped from Amazon Video? I'm trying to find better versions of these.
