Maybe just wishful thinking. Hopefully it's one of those four.

Hint: Think of something that would work VERY well between Full House and Family Matters. I can think at least 3 or 4 shows, but what do you all think?

While it is a major bummer that they're not showing the Valerie episodes, I'm still excited that they're going to air The Hogan Family :)

I would think so, it would be dumb of ABC Family to start at the 87-88 season instead of the 85-86/86-87 season

ABC Family is not starting with the Valerie episodes, but that does not mean they will never air them. For Step by Step, they started with like season 3 or 4, too, but of course every other rotation they have aired the first few seasons. So, hopefully this is also the case for The Hogan Family!

Nevertheless, this is the most exciting sitcom TV news in a longgggggg time!

I guess ABCFAMILY is starting with The Hogan Family episodes because they are alittle more like the shows on abcfamily. They are alittle more "hip" and the kids got older and older, so it's more for "teens.".......They might just want ppl to start to like it now, and then they'll follow the show when "Valerie" actually begins........Does anyone know what episode they're starting with??? Is it the episode when he's in the attic and talking about Valerie after she died. I think it's the premiere of the first yr Valerie wasn't on it......That was sooo sad. I remember watching it a few years back on my Local FOX Channel. And then Val's sister moves in. The show was good, but the first and last seasons, I do have mixed feelings about.

Did I leave any indication that there would be more sitcoms? No. I don't understand why you ask that for every single channel when they add a new show.

They did the same thing to Full House. When that premiered, the pilot aired and then they skipped right to season 4 or 5. When that rotation finished, they went all the way back to the beginning. I guess they decided they wanted to start the show with what is in their opinion stronger or more memorable episodes. I can kinda see their point. A show can fail in reruns when it initially starts airing with episodes people didn't remember or like. I'm sure we'll see the Valerie episodes when the series starts over again.

Ooh, this is awesome!! For obvious reasons, I want to see the Valerie years, but, hey, I wouldn't mind if they started w/ the Sandy Duncan eps. It'll be nice to see this show again. It's been years since I watched it.

Freakin' awesome news!!! I've been wanting to see this in syndication or on DVD for awhile now...I'm definitely taping all the episodes. Hopefully the ratings will be good enough for the show to stick around awhile.

Good to hear that they're planning to air Valerie after the Hogan Family eps are finished. I can definitely understand why they want to start with Hogan Family for reasons already mentioned in this thread.

What the fudge? This has nothing to do with The Hogan Family but...why must they push Step by Step back on the schedule? :grr:

I can understand that Karen, but the way I personally look at it is this: at least it's still on the schedule. I still don't understand why we haven't seen Step by Step released on DVD. I think it's becoming long overdue. That and Family Matters.

I haven't watched ABC Family in years....what's their credit-squeeze situation. Hogie Family has no tags that I remember, but I'll be DVRing the eps as well, and don't want ads and promos in the credits.

If they're airing two a day, five days a week, the Valerie eps should air around June 1st. Because they only made 79 Hogan Family eps.

Someone asked about the quality of the show.....yes, Bateman is great. The show put him on the map. It was a standard, cookie-cutter fam-com for it's day, but the writing was great. You had the teenage boy going through hormones and school, two twin boys about 12 years old, one was straight-laced, the other a wild kid. The father was an airline pilot, and the mother juggling it all as a housewife. Though they'll be starting after the mother has died, and the aunt moves in. I believe she was an assistant principal and sort of becomes the mother figure to everyone. Plus a cliche'd goofy nextdoor neighbor with a high-pitch giggle :). A good show up until it's last year, when NBC ditched it and CBS picked up one more season.

To me,it seems stupid and pointless to start at the middle of a serises run.I mean;how in the hell someone going to know what's going on.Start from day one(reguardless how "uncool","unhip" those episodes were)then build up to it.At least ABC Family isn't putting on another one of their rethreads from their network;now that's unusual!

I guess you've never seen the show rodwayne? Before you complain, which you always seem to do, The Hogan Family first episode is kind of like a first episode because it is a new beginning. And they will air the Valerie episodes every other time. Just be happy the show is airing!

I don't think Hogan Family had tag scenes, but I know that during the end credits, they show footage of the family sitting down together at a picnic table. During this, a nice instrumental version of the opening theme song plays. I'm not sure if ABC Family will show that or not, as I don't watch many sitcoms on that channel these days. Unfortunately, I am expecting the typical ABC Family programming ads (for original series such as Wildfire and Beautiful People) to show up at the bottom of the screen during Hogan Family episodes...

This is great, I'm finally going to see this show again, I haven't seen this show since it was on NBC back in the 80s, me and my grandma used to watch is show all the time, and after all this years I'm finally going to see it again, that is excellent. :) Thank you ABC Family Channel!:)

I turned on abcfamily but its not on this week they got FULL HOUSE back on again where hogan family was last week!!!!

there was no promotion for it and they didnt even give it a chance! ohno:

all they did was promote Full House moving to a new time.

ABC Family told me to tell you all, that the show will return at some point. No set date yet, but they said rest assure it will return.

Well at least they're saying it will return. I was so glad to hear that it was going to be on and now I'm pissed that's it's off.

Full House does well in the ratings apparently.

Yes Full House is The Hightest Rated Show on ABC Family and I sure do enjoying watching Full House on ABC Family
