View Full Version : Which character did you enjoy more: Barney Fife or Ralph Furley? Janice 02-28-2006, 05:37 PM They were both great characters, played by the comic genius, Don Knotts, but do you have a favorite? Janice 02-28-2006, 05:46 PM I voted for Barney Fife. Don Knotts created a true classic character, who people are still laughing over 40 years later. Mr. Furley was hilarious, but Barney was Barney. Brian Damage 02-28-2006, 07:16 PM I was never a fan of the Andy Griffith Show even though he was great in the role of Barney Fife. Ralph Furley was the man! He made Three's Company 10x's funnier when he joined the cast. His clothes, his apartment, his facial expressions were all classic. Fleet 02-28-2006, 07:31 PM I voted for the last option ("both equally"). Don was great as both characters. If I HAD to choose one, I would probably lean towards Barney because Don was that character longer and Barney was a more "established" character. Meaning that Barney had more screen time than Mr. Furley. SO Games 4 Us 02-28-2006, 11:45 PM Barney Fife was predictable. Ralph Furley was full of surprises. Barney Fife was hilarious. Ralph Furley was outrageously hilarious. My vote goes to ... do the math. ;) :D Classicshowsgurl15 03-01-2006, 12:06 AM I put that I like them equally the same because I don't like one better than the other. He was good as both characters. PrettyinPink55 03-01-2006, 12:13 AM Ralph Furley! Mr. Television 03-01-2006, 12:35 AM I pick Barney but not by much because I liked both characters. Dumballa 03-01-2006, 01:11 AM Mr. Furley because of the way Don and John played off each other . . . just hilarious :) comedyfreak 03-01-2006, 11:16 AM I enjoyed them both equally. Chain Gang Member 03-01-2006, 12:28 PM Furley ky24943 03-01-2006, 12:40 PM Ralph Furley snl 70s show fan 03-01-2006, 09:58 PM i enjoyed both characters equally JeffRuss1972 03-01-2006, 10:00 PM Barney Fife. Pitooey 03-01-2006, 11:20 PM I chose Furley. He just cracked me up. Barney Fife was funny too but Furley got my vote. Adamantium 03-02-2006, 05:48 PM Barney Fife Now if it comes to Mr. Furley vs. Mr. Roper, then Furley wins. spunkygirl 03-02-2006, 09:42 PM Love both equally :) TripperFan 03-16-2006, 08:42 PM Wow - surprised it's that way - I LOVED goofy Barney, and I think because of that, I never could get into the Furley character - if anything, it was the season Don joined the show that I really stopped watching. Couldn't picture "Barn" being Mr. Sauve. Mr.Burns 03-17-2006, 08:08 PM I like them both equally Mrs. John Ritter 03-17-2006, 10:52 PM Definately Mr. Furley. Barney Fife was excellent too, but Mr. Furley was so hilarious. He was always full of surprises and you never knew what he was going to do next. Don really did a good job with both characters. He will be sadly missed. Mister Ed 03-18-2006, 02:08 AM I enjoyed both characters equally. Brent88 03-18-2006, 03:58 AM I'm not a big fan of either show... but IMO Barney Fife MADE the Andy Griffith Show. My mom loves Andy Griffith but will not watch the later color episodes without Barney in them. TripperFan 03-22-2006, 11:12 PM I'm not a big fan of either show... but IMO Barney Fife MADE the Andy Griffith Show. My mom loves Andy Griffith but will not watch the later color episodes without Barney in them. I'm totally with your mom there. You always have the feeling that something is missing in those shows - and it IS - Barn! No one else could compare.:( Mikado 04-15-2006, 08:43 PM Barney, a classic character on a classic show, nuff said Dude111 05-22-2025, 12:56 AM Ralph Furley :) |
