thought this show was trying to be like the Jeffersons when I heard all the-"Moving Up" talk when james came in with his diploma. I could see myself saying in 1975-"Oh so since the Jeffersons was created 10 months ago and they are a Black Family who moved up The Evans are going to move up too? I bet a lot of people was thinking that when they watched the 1st ep of Season 3 in Sept of 1975. It would have been so easy to think that if you came along during that time because of how NEW the Jeffersons was at the time and it would have seemed like Good Times was trying to copy and was going to be eventually coming up financially

Well there would be some similarities considering Mike Evans was a part of both shows. However, since both shows were on CBS, I don't think I would consider it a rip off of any kind.

I didn't think that when I watched it then. As a matter of fact, it was common to say "moving on up" whenever something financially good happened to someone. So for the Jeffersons to have those words in the theme song, by then it was "normal" to hear that phrase.

Well I think it would have been kind of corny for viewers to see the Evans Move Up also. I think several viewers would have been saying-"Why are they copying off the Jeffersons"

Could you see the Evans living in a high rise Condo in downtown chicago?-lol

Well it's good that the Evans stayed poor so it wouldn't be similar to the Jeffersons-lol And Irene I find it really hard to believe you were watching good times on cbs in 75 because you were kind of young, you know what I'm saying?-lol-lol
