With the recent passing of the great Don Knotts, this seems like a good time to
post this question. Don's movie debut was "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" (1964),
which combined live-action and animation. In the film, Limpet turns from a man
into a fish. My question is this: did they rewrite the ending? Were they at
one time planning to have him change back from a fish to a man? The reason
I ask this is because in a dream sequence, the fish Limpet imagines being treated like a
hero, riding in a ticker-tape parade, waving to his fans ... and he is in human
form, in a fancy naval uniform! But, at the end of the film (while he is a hero
for helping the Navy win WWII), he is still a fish!
