View Full Version : Can we consider this statement by Raj his Funniest Moment on WH?
TVFactFan 02-25-2006, 10:44 PM The guys were in the soda shop and Dwayne found out he won the footbal contest and then Raj said-"Dwayne you must be the luckiest guy in the world because you won the contest five times in a Row" And then Dwayne said-"When you do something five times in a row its not luck it means you have a System" And then Rerun says-"Well i flunked english five times in a row and I don't have a system" And then raj says the funniest thing in all the eps of WH.
He tells Rerun-"Well Maybe you're just LUCKY!!!-LOL

actually I like when he searches the ads looking for the ad his mom put in there abt the room for rent and he says: "ROOM"
The other one is when the guys think that Rob's girlfriend is stealing from him and they are trying to keep her at the house til Big Earl shows up so Raj tells Dee to sing, she says "What?" and he YELLS "SING!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I find those one word statements to be very funny.

I guess that statement was just great comic timing-lol I never expected Raj to reply to rerun saying he flunked we english five times in that type of way. I guess another one would be when they were trying to buy the Blouse for Mabel and the total was little more than what they had and the salesmasn explained that it was because of the TAX and raj says-"Well I dont Want the Tax"-LOL

nerrad 02-27-2006, 09:48 AM Now that was funny!
Great line. I also like how the salesman's jaws started moving if he was pi**ed.
Ireneparalegal 02-27-2006, 12:58 PM Last night's episode abt the strike, Raj said "JOB!!" really loud and scared. When he does that, it is soooooo hilarious to me. Those one word statements are his trademark, I believe.

Not to sound stupid but I really don't get it. Can you explain that?
TVFactFan 03-02-2006, 12:10 AM Not to sound stupid but I really don't get it. Can you explain that?
Ok let me start from the BEGINNING
RAJ SAID: "Dwayne you won the football contest five times in a row? You got to be the luckiest guy in the world"
DWAYNE SAID: "When you do something five times in a row it means you have a system, It's not luck.
RERUN SAID:"Well I flunked English Five Times in a Row and I don't have a system"
RAJ SAID: "Well maybe you're just LUCKY!!!!!
Now if you still don't get it that means you are SLOW

I feel quite honored already, TVResearcher! LOL, you're funny anyways... :happyface
Silly goose...
Oh yeah! I kinda liked it when Raj mimicked the whole Doobie Brothers concert (in the second part of "The Doobie Brothers"), in an attempt to hold up that Al Dunbar and his hood so that they wouldn't escape so easily before the band/the cops got there.
Raj said, "Yeah, the concert was fantastic, Mister Dunbar! First, they sang this song, ya know? They sang...OWWWWW! (Just like Michael Jackson does in yelping)
And then, Mister Dunbar, this curtain opened up and they sang Ole Black Water (then Raj does his super-high pitch singing of the song itself, while holding one of his hands out to the side)!
And then there was this pounding of the gong with a fire-lit hammer, ya know, BONG, BONG..."
Then Al Dunbar got irritated and said, "Lord, I don't wanna hear no BONG!!", then Raj continued with his "rendition" of the concert itself, including an interesting & deeper version of "Takin' It to the Streets!"
And then Raj told them all about Rerun's "dancing on stage", which of course never really happened but, Rerun got up on the chair and did the "Funky Chicken"...as Dwayne and Raj got down with all sorts of laughter and clapping!!
I myself was rolling with all sorts of laughter at this particular episode, and I said, "You just GO on AHEAD!"
Too funny...
  :)

Cindy I still want to know what you think about this great Sitcom Moment in the 70's? You didn't say whether you felt it was funny.
Raj: "dwayne you have to be the luckiest guy in the world to win the football contest 5 weeks in a row"
Dwayne: "raj when you do something 5 times in a row it means you have a system"
Rerun: "wait a minute, i flunked English 5 times in a row and I don't have a system"
Raj: "well maybe you're just LUCKY!

Oh yeah... almost forgot! LOL
Anyhow, yeah it was all right in the humorous sense; however, it wasn't quite as funny as some of the other stuff that involved Raj and the gang...
It was funny, however, in the sense that the so-called "luck" happened to lay with Dwayne's silly & ridiculous notion of choosing "the teams with the prettiest football helmets"...Embarrassing!
Umph, umph...

Anyone who's doesn't laugh when seeing that scene has no sense of humor, period.

CindyRoxiesLair2006 04-03-2006, 06:24 PM First off, thanx much, Briennas, for the comment on what I described (the Doobie Brothers, Pt. 2, Soda Shop Scene).
And secondly, TVResearcher, I thought that the episode where Raj, Dwayne and Rerun were in the soda shop, discussing the "streak of luck" in a dual aspect, was funny...IN AN ALL-RIGHT sense. Please don't get me wrong here.
I laughed at it.
However, it ISN'T as funny as most of the other episodes we've seen and laughed to! Period!
It has absolutely nothing to do with "sense of humor amount", etc.
OUR sense of humor levels are elevated WAY high; how about YOURS, friend? ;)
(Just askin')

I think I know what the definition of comedy is-lol
TVFactFan 04-03-2006, 08:17 PM Well I have a sense of humor, and that wasn't funny at all.
Well maybe you need to watch the ep again because you are not understanding what comedy is all about.

Just because others and myself didn't find it funny, doesn't mean that I don't know what comedy is.

I remember being age 12 and laughing at that remark. It was hilarious to me and still is to this day. The salesman was Senator Byron Douglas from "A Different World".
