for my spanish class I have to give a 10-20 minute "charla" (speech) about some topic and then conduct a class discussion.
i have to research the topic and then talk about it.
my charla is coming up within the next few weeks and I'm stuck for ideas.
care to help?

You could talk about school violence and what leads to it, for example...school shootings, fighting, bullying. You could talk about cultural difference, religion. There's a big thing in the news, about abortion do you believe in it or not, you could discuss the pros and cons of it.
Sports, you can discuss women playing men dominated sports, like football, hockey.

Does it have to be related to the Spanish language and/or culture? I get a half-and-half sense from those list of discussions.
But anyway....
I would say why not a class discussion on the advantages/disadvantages or cause/effect of making Spanish a required billingual language? I dunno....
