It's on tonight at 8:00 ET on The Discovery Channel. It's the story of Timothy Treadwell, who lived in Alaska with grizzly bears. He meets a sad end. I've been waiting for this to come to TV for a while.

Great documentary. A really interesting story.

The critics loved it. Then again, I've hated plenty of things that critics have loved. And I've loved movies that they've hated.

It did get an almost unheard of 93% rating on rottentomatoes.com

I guess I'll have to decide for myself.

You definitely could end up really liking it, but it just didn't really appeal to me. Perhaps I read too many good things about it before watching.

I really enjoyed it. The only down fall for me was they didn't show the bear attack that ended his and his girlfriend's life. I know that is a morbid statement, but they really do build up your hopes to see it.

I loved it. It's sort of eerie, as we know the terrible outcome. I think Treadwell was too trusting and naive with the bears albeit misguided.

I guess when the attack took place, the len's cap was on the video camera, so there is no video. There is a six minute audio...first of Treadwell, but mostly of his girlfriend screaming. I was glad they didn't use it in the movie. It would have been too much to take, for me.

Wasn't there a story on this on the Urban Legends page (Snopes.com)?

They actually posted a picture from the attack, but they said it was really, really graphic, so I didn't click on it. :barf:

I remember watching a documentory on Timothy a few years ago. I thought waht he was doing was so cool. And I think in his death that was the way he wanted to go.

there is a tape recording of the attack. one of his friends owns it, but she has never heard it. she doesn't want to.
